is this your own feet or someone else?  does it give you an edge when you wear shoes?
current stats: age: 42 :: 5'11" (180cm) :: 180lbs (82kg) bf ~30% :: reach: 90" or 7'6" (230cm) :: wing span: 6" (183cm)
12 week goal(current): SQ 115kg(100), DL 130kg(110), BP 80kg(70), reduce weight to 75kg (165 lbs) and bf to ~25%
status: excellent cardio condition, new 5x5 program, 10' rim touch okay, RVJ ~30"
PR RVJ ~34" 10'5" touch @ age ~25 (worst was ~6" below rim when i was @ 190 lbs ~35% body fat ~23" RVJ in 2007-8

it's someone else from "the barefoot runners group" or something.. sv, on this forum, linked me.. he's into barefoot running.

well, i'd imagine it does give you an edge when you wear shoes as your foot is more developed/stronger, but it's more of, it gives you an edge in minimalist shoes, track flats.. and of course barefoot.. it's more of a "hippy hobby", running barefoot :d it also would help to correct a ton of postural/foot related issues i'd imagine.

that transformation took 3 years.

peace!

ya know i notice in the photo the after version looks a lot like a baby's feet.  which is very plumpy/meaty, with toes "separated".  my feet is similar to the "before" photo, with toes all bunched up - an effect of wearing too much shoes.  i also have very little "padding" on the bottom of my feet.  it's nice knowing there is natural help for this after some barefoot running.  while i don't mind getting baby feet again (especially if there will be performance benefits) i think it would make shoe shopping difficult.  :-)

I run in Vibram FiveFingers. It's not quite barefoot running but pretty darn close. They do wonders for my knees and ankles. Before I was cutting out because the pounding on my knees were killing me around 2 miles, but with my VFF I can run 5+ miles consistently. It's a whole different ballgame. Running w/ shoes, I struggle to walk the next day. Running with VFF, I feel even more energized the next day.

I know it doesn't work for everyone, but it's worked for me. That's what matters to me of course. Other people have different experiences. But at 6'5" 215lb, the less stress on my knees the better.
My real name is Daniel. (6'5" - 217lbs.)

I'm pretty convinced VFF accelerated my arthritis. Just saying.

Also makes you fore foot dominant...important for pretty much all athletic endeavours.

I swear by the VFF.  If I could wear them with dress pants they would be the only pair of shoes I own (other than squat shoes).  I don't do any distance running....but for sprints on grass, or just walking around love the VFF.

How so? I have bad arthritis in my knees and I feel like VFF helps take it down a few notches.
