low 59's for several guys. hou is always a crazy fast half.

Kipchoge (2:01:39) vs Bekele (2:01:41) in London.

April 26 2020.

https://www.bbc.com/sport/athletics/51107844

I roll with Kipchoge but would love to see Bekele make him battle. Don't see how Bekele will beat him tho, Kipchoge is the master at 26.2

that article is cool, didn't know they had quite so much history. bekele owned him on the track 10-15 years ago, then as they got older and switched to road kipchoge took over. but shit, 2:01:41 means bekele can absolutely go head-to-head with kipchoge now. let us pray for a photo finish.

interesting article about the best US ultrarunner trying to qualify for tokyo in the marathon. the upcoming olympic trials will be the first actual marathon he's ever run.

yea he's an absolute beast. welmsley could probably get 2:11 or so maybe.

I feel like top-3 will be 2:10+ .. should be a dog fight at the end by several folks. don't think he'll be in the top 3 mix but i think he could be close. would be nuts if he got top 3.

People say rupp is a lock for top 3 but i'm not so sure. I just don't think he's healthy.

i think it'll be Ward, Fauble, maybe Stinson (if he's healthy) or even Bernard Lagat. I think Bernard will be able to hang longer than most expect. Plus he's just so damn skilled & rises to the occasion. Would love to see him make the marathon squad. That would be so mindblowing.

For women, i think it'll be Hall, Sisson, Linden.

I think Hassay won't be healthy either. Her & Rupp (both from project Oregon), seem wrecked lately. Sux.

pc!

edit: Stinson dropped out. fuuq. https://www.runnersworld.com/news/a31084206/parker-stinson-withdraws-from-2020-olympic-marathon-trials/

some absolutely incredible performances.

the most incredible was Molly Siedel's (sp?) first marathon, earning a spot on the US Olympic Team. That is unreal.

blake riley also got the third spot for the men.

abdi gets to his 5th olympics.

rupp's win was so impressive. didn't think he'd get it done due to his health issues over the last few years.

that course looked so tough. hills everywhere.

the men still dropped some great times, crazy.
