Title: Greatest moments in the forum history.
Post by: vag on November 19, 2014, 06:45:42 am
Hehe, fun times, got this idea when i commented ChrisM's recent dunk as a candidate for best moment in adarq.org.
I added the few stories i remember as epic ones, I will try to find the logs and pics/vids if possible and post them below.
This is a live poll, new moments will be added all the time. I will try to keep this strict, only really big moments qualify. Also i will not be the moderator of this, we will all decide together if a new moment is worth to be added. So anyone that remembers a moment  and/or is overwhelmed from a new one, post it ( describe it and if you can find and quote its log ) and i will edit the poll and add it.
I gave 3 votes per person, this may seem a lot for now, but i vision this list to get much bigger. I also gave the ability to change your votes in the future.

So let's go, submit your votes!!!  :lololol:

Adarqui slam dunk contest log:

ok forget about me, werm & myree are absolute gods.. they basically shut down miami.

as for me, had some nice dunks during warmups.. during competition, first round legs absolutely jello, landed a weak dunk, missed for 2nd part of round 1.. made it to second round.. had to try and get my legs back.. drank a damn sprite.. landed a real nice two hander.. missed my second dunk of round 2, legs jello again.. had a really hard throwdown just couldnt make shit... during warmup i made a real nice two hander, i think someone was in front of cam tho.. i think i got my real hard one hander on vid tho... i trolled everyone in my last dunk of round 2, shit was hilarious, u'll see.. lmfao.

anyway, was crazy fun.. i got some INSANE footage.. like godly

oh and that rim was 10' for sure.. people were complaining about it, dunkers etc.. werm didnt though, or myree.. werm was like "i'd rather dunk on this".. people thought it was higher than 10' lmao.. it kinda felt like it was but it was probably exactly 10'.

anyway werm shut it down, most amazing shit ive ever seen, him and myree..

myree is freaking JACKED.

edit #2: if i would have made my one hander in 2nd dunk of round 2, woulda been final four, fml.. :F

edit: oh ya, i put down caveman as my nickname but the host must have not gotten it, he called me "andrew".. so eventually LOS nicknamed me "castaway" while i was dunking lmao.

Unfortunately pics&vids are taken down.

ChrisM dunk description:

Had a MONSTER facial in one game. Ended the game for about 10 mins lol! Loose ball scramble and I came up with it at the top of the key, defender just off the block was about 6'1 and id seen him trying to dunk before so I knew I had to get up. Two dribbles and got UP. Big one hander and the foul as he tried to push me away from the rim with his off hand, other hand only got up to about my elbow. No chance. Kinda surprised I controlled it as hard as I dunked it. :D

I shouldn't even be in this imo lol! No vid :( and cmon how can you compete with KFs squat or Adarq dunking with freaking Reemix?!?!? Glad I get 3 votes...cuz winning any dunk contest has to get a vote too. :)

Thanks for the love tho! :D

And thanks for whoever voted for me lol   :headbang:

I agree. I reckon your ~45'' should be up there. It's on vid and it's probably the highest jump in forum history (which is what it's all about anyway):

Cool idea btw vag!

Good point Acole. Maybe make video a requirement?  I mean I think ive backed up what I say/post but its always better on vid. Case in point: I dont think anyone doubts my poster the other day BUT...vid would make it straight legit. Im for it even if it knocks out my 1 vote. :)

Yes, forgot that jump, that should be in too.
Still, in my book a 40'' off the dribble in game and-1 poster dunk is bigger than that. But maybe that is just me.
About vid, generally i agree, vid makes it more legit. But then again, most of us are already many years in here and noone has ever posted shit. Vid is more about the 'qualifications' of the claim, e.g. a squat PR actually being a half squat, a jump that you thought was this high but actually was lower and shit like that.
Anyway, i am adding the jump and removing the dunk. The dunk has to be on vid so we can evaluate it better, how 'big' it was, now it all depends on how each of us imaginates it.
Chris, get yourself a cheap cam and a mini tripod, put it looking at the court side you are attacking and let it record, you will catch it eventually.

Good calls.

Here is rip's highest ( and most forum-accepted ) jump:

46-48"?????

I'll upload vids later.

All his videos are private now though.

Horton's videos are private too.

I will add rip, maybe that will bring JC back in the forum too!  :P

Adding scooby's 40'' jump. Huge achievement, at a delayed age, well earned after years and years of hard training!

Will be replaced with his first 10' dunk ( which also requires those 40'' anyway )

The thread:

The video ( the 40'' jump starts at 1:01 ):

WEIGHT: 176.6 (173.6)
SORENESS: none
ACHES/INJURIES: none
MENTAL STATE: amazing

- warm up

- DLRVJ x 20+
asked random dude shooting around on the other end to throw me a couple lobs. was really close on the first, on the second i pushed that motherfucking ball through the motherfucking hoop. missed a couple of others, including one that i front-ironed and ended up on my ass but was sooo close. hit clean 37s on at least 3-4 other jumps.

 :personal-record: :personal-record: :personal-record: :personal-record: :personal-record: :personal-record: :personal-record:

- squat 345 x 1; 355 x 1; 365 x 1
the last was an all-time PR, as well. 2.1xbw

was planning to just do a normal weight workout but the court was open, i was feeling awesome, and so i adjusted my plans. i'm grinning like an idiot and kind of feel like i want to cry. skipped rest of weight workout because i have to go to easter lunch with my grandma. who cares.

thank you andrew. thank you. thank you t0ddday for the recent help, i haven't followed it exactly but god damn if the half-assed way i have followed it didn't work. thanks vag, raptor, flander, kelly and lance in absentia, avishek in absentia, and everyone else on here for being an awesome community and helping me keep the grind.

BTW , you guys have 3 votes available. From what i see 11 people have voted but only 23 votes are counted, 10 'missing'.
Could be deliberate of course, someone not wanting to give 2 or 3 votes, I'm just noting it in case someone didn't realize.

btw i saw vag mentioned my 'sprite dunk contest' content disappeared into the ether..

here's some stuff:

i still love that pic... being 6'1, I look small as fuq.. next to people who are advertised as like 6'1-6'2. HEH!

first dunk and the two warmups at 1:34 and 1:40 were decent. I love the guy in the audience, "miami help andrew out? andrew should just quit.." sad.. lmao.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXD6B7UoxQA

here's that moment i caught on tape.. everyone was saying the rim was higher than 10'.. so myree does a rim check with a mic in his hand:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYV38qeB3cM

he was dunking ALL day.. hours earlier for kids.. during warmups.. after.. guy is a machine.

pc!
