lol

vert didn't look too crazy, just really getting those legs up.. it was sideways too, if he was jumping forward he would have missed it.. ;d

true a better hurdle...but cushings is 260 lbs so he gets to play the weight card for jumps.

x2
I totally respect heavyweight good jumpers , i posted Jukebox's jump just because i found it in my subscription page right after seeing Cushing's video.
Still , hurdle jumps are kinda lame (vert-wise ) , just like box jumps.

You wanna see some athletic huge dudes? MY friends, behold the top performers at the 2010 NFL combine: http://www.nfl.com/combine/top-performers (http://www.nfl.com/combine/top-performers)

Some highlights:

Trent Williams with a 34.5" standing vertical at 315 lbs
Clay Harbor 40" standing vertical at 252 lbs
Bruce Campbell 4.85 40 at 315 lbs

FWIW, Cushing jumped 35" on his Pro Day at USC and at the combine.

Hahahaha!  "I bet youre one of those people on the cross trainers avoiding squats and deadlifts" .... that made everything else after his sentence alot easier to put in perspective.

Extremely retarded, especially considering Cushing could get hurt doing something so useless and lose millions.  Joe Defranco has plenty of vertecs, if he wanted to test a max jump its pretty damn easy to do safely and accurately.

yup.. if you're going to do PR 'hurdle jumps', i mean, at least come up with a safe setup when you're having a guy under a million dollar contract jumping over it, same goes for high school, college, or whatever-level athletes too ;0 no matter how good you jump, anyone can clip a hurdle or have a weird plant/jump.. doing so in that setup could be horrible.. cushing was obviously pumped that he made that jump, which means he had an even higher percentage of missing it.

i agree though, hit the sticks on a vertec, those PR's mean more :D

peace man

I like how joe defranco worded it "60 inch" jump as opposed to the more accurate title "jump over 60 inch hurdle." Lol that sleezy wording will lure teenagers and unsuspecting jumping/training enthusiasts toward the WS4SB methods or any of Joe's other programs...sad

I don't think cushing is good for 40" based on howmuch of the hurdle was leg lift.

it looked like low 30's to me, if that. i mean, if you're 6'3, your hip crease is going to be 40+", so getting 60+ would mean you could barely clear it with a sub 30.

it's still a nice jump, but nothing amazing.

i'm just surprised he can jump single leg, that's impressive:
