After talking with the video author on youtube i gotta say:
1) He is a very nice guy , not at all over his head , he knows his shit and he has impressive ups too!
2) I watched the video today , most of it is about strength training and not jumping technique. Nothing bad in what he says. Nothing ground breaking either, what he says is very well known and i don't think its useful for anyone who has read the very basics of jump training. But it's not another 'learn jump form secretz for explosive instant inchez gainz" vid like i thought. It will not do any harm to a noob that sees it and carries those rules to his training.

Gotta be fair...
Target training paces (min/km), calculated from 5K PR 22:49 :
Easy run : 5:48
Tempo run : 4:50
VO2-max run :4:21
Speed form run : 4:02

---

it's the biggest trick in the run game.. go slow to go fast. it doesn't make sense until it smacks you in the face and you're like ....... wtf?

lol. people like vagina just react so strongly. stop reacting, take a step back and think. glad to see at least vag was able to do that.

I'm like that too, always reacting, especially on forums where everyone is anonymous. But seirously, both parties have techniques that work..

I've increased my running vert 2'' instantly by trying to have my feet plant at the same time on an RL plant. As I reached out to plant with my right foot, I prepared my left foot to shoot out in front ready to jump.. bam instant 2'' is HUGE.

But in a game, it doesn't matter if you have a 45'' max vert with perfect technique, and can still dunk over your competition with 40.. there is no demand to use good technique.

if vertical jumping was an olympic event... there would be EXTREMELY HIGH DEMAND for good technique. just my thoughts. I agree with lance though, train for a few years, then start talking. It's hard htough everyone wants to talk all the time including myself! Be nice.
"Performance during stretch-shortening cycle exercise is influenced by the visco-elastic properties of the muscle-tendon units. During stretching of an activated muscle, mechanical energy is absorbed in the tendon structures (tendon and aponeurosis) and this energy can subsequently be re-utilized if shortening of the muscle immediately follows the stretching. According to Biscotti (2000), 72% of the elastic energy restitution action comes from tendons, 28% - from contractile elements of muscles.
