Imagine the best player you've ever played against, add athleticism, add 6 inches, add arm length.

then multiply by 100.

I've heard that in pick up games their most likely not going to miss their jump shots, that probably goes for players that aren't considered good jump shooters in the NBA; like d.Ross, rondo, ect...

Ask Alex Maroko. He plays in private pickup games with tons of nba players and division 1 players.

I've had the luck to play with a few of the players from the Hawks, Magic and several former NBA players and a lot of players that have played overseas.

Suffice it to say, they are above average. They would be the most dominant player on the court trying 50% with their off-hands. They're pretty darn good.
My real name is Daniel. (6'5" - 217lbs.)

Depends on the player...

Not being facetious... but some players who have spent time in NBA have some fantastic skill and promise but... IMO just don't have 'it.'

On the other hand those staple players who can put numbers and play competitive game in game out... even at the college level just have a court sense, confidence, and a way of applying their skill sets to situations that makes them on a different level.

They would absolutely tear anybody you know to shreds.

My friend was back-up pointguard for Kemba Walker in high school (they played for Rice). My friend goes to a D-2 college now. Kemba Walker won a championship with UConn. I've got to ask my friend what it was like guarding him in practice.

I guarded a D-1 player that plays for Iona when we were in high school. He was a shooting guard who averaged 27pts and 12reb as a senior I think, then 38pts and 11reb in the playoffs. I kid you not when I tell you, I was my team's best defender and this was by far the toughest person I've ever had to guard in my life. He dropped 36 on me and I mean I have never ever ever admitted in my life that it was almost impossible to guard someone.

here's his stats: http://psal.org/psalsports/player/psal_playerprofile.asp?cid=263201915&csport=001

He now averages 6ppg for Iona.

Now imagine guarding an NBA player who averages 6ppg

Now imagine guarding Kobe.

Edit: It's weird though, because I also guarded this kid when I was a sophomore http://psal.org/psalsports/player/psal_playerprofile.asp?cid=251021259&csport=001
33.5ppg as a 6'1 senior.

As a sophomore, I locked him the fuck up and he had 4pts on me in the first half. Then I switched off of him so our 2nd best defender could guard him because I was getting really tired keeping up with him.

I guess it also depends on the style of the offensive player. Some players are not that great, but for me personally, they're tough to guard. Vice-versa also.

but this kid was no joke... he got shot in the knee, then his first game back he dropped 51 points on the best team in our conference.
box score for that game: http://psal.org/psalsports/boxscore/psal_boxdetails.asp?sportid=001&cid=160143
actually, in that box score, u see the other D-1 player I guarded from this same post had 27 on him (and his two teammates each 26 and 27).

nuts.
