NBA 2017 - 2018 Season

Looking to have a great discussion with basketball minds and those really sharp about bball, nba contract/bargaining, understand the game and traveling bball, and good with pattern recognition, team chemistry, human sports psychology, etc etc.

My prediction is that one of the most improved teams will be Brooklyn nets and Miami heat, depending on who they retain and get.

heat definitely.. not sure about the nets tho.

i'm not sure i'll be much use to the study group, i kind of fade in/out.

offseason signings will get us all amp'd up though.. imagine if we had predicted anything last time this year, before durant went to the biggest juggernaut in the NBA.. hah. this thread will explode in late june/july i imagine.

Nets were actually above .500 towards end of season or around .500 lol.... and they were like 5-60 before that... they beat some pretty tough teams like Memphis @ Memphis.

I see Nets as a problem next year for a lotta teams.... something is off with Orlando.... they were dissappointment compared to how much talent they had....

Lakers will be fun to watch, 6ers def. fun to watch with Ben Simmons running the point lol, and some tough young guns, they showed a lot of heart 2nd half of the season .... was #1 defense in the league from Jan - MArch ....... Charlotte needs some major change ups, MJ slacking on doing his job..... everyone need to go from the coach to some of the starters.... only Kemba, marvin, and some core players can stay....

Look out for the 6ers next season. I've watch almost ever one of their games last year....

How do you all think Lonzo Ball will do in the NBA?

well said.. hah.

I think lonzo will form into a solid player in the NBA, as long as he doesn't let the hype crush him. He's a decent 3pt shooter, good vision (assists), pretty athletic, good all around skills. He's got more of an "NBA style", me-first break down a D + create, ie he'll do better in the NBA vs NCAA. He's not going to come in and make a huge impact right away though IMHO.. He's going to need to get used to the speed difference. Players like De`Aaron Fox with NBA speed have locked him down on D. So he's going to have to get used to it, which I think he will.

Lavar is a joker obv.

The thing about Lonzo is that which team is just going to let him take over the point without proving anything? A lot of people can distribute and have the length he has AND more experience/ faster/stronger/better offensively etc: Elfrid Payton, Dennis Schroder, Ben simmons, Harden, Yannis Antedecouple (sp?), Reggie Jackson, etc.....

I guess there are a shortage of big pg's in the league... but that is because teams aren't willing to try something new.  Bball is evolving....

IMO the best way to play is to have alternate pg/combo guards controlling the point at the SAME time on the court.

Harden was GREAT pg during regular season competition, but during playoffs he lacked the nimbleness to get thru all out defense because of his size.... and that is when you need to have Pat Beverly run the point at times....

That is what Cavs do, sometimes having Lebron run the point, sometimes Kyrie.... because Kyrie is more nimble than Lebron, but Lebron can control the pace too and has the length to distribute.....

Yeah, if it's true, LA will be a beast obv.... they have so many talents just don't know how to in, also #2 draft pick.....

The East will be left with Kyrie, Giannis, Wall, lol..... the west will be stacked with WEstbrook, Lebron, Curry, Kwahi, Harden, Durant, Draymond, Klay, Davis, KAT....

WTF R 6ERS DOING!!!

THEY are trying to get Markel fultz, a total project imo, might be good but whatever..... they have tanked for seasons after seasons ..... getting some great players like simmons, that center, dario, and some sick role players.... they had #1 defense for long stretch last year and a sick winning streak.....

now is the time to start going 4 wins..... but they are reverting to old habits...... if it aint broke dont try to fix it ....... they dont need anymore talent, they need to start trying to get wins before its too late..... bulls tried that when mj left...... now look at what they have lolol

6ers bout to trade for #1 pick so they can get Fultz..... i see fultz as a poor man's version of dame lillard.... so nothing too special.... this years draft is another joke imo.... roy to ben simmons even tho he's not really a rookie.....

6ers wtf by the time u think u can contend, ur talents will be like 40 ys old.... start now idiots.... before ben simmons tears an acl or something lolol.... he has like RVJ of 44 in at 6'11 lol .... an acl tear waiting to happen

joel embiid, ben simmons, covington, henderson, okafor, holmes, dario, tj mconnel, stauskas, cabarrot, sergio, j anderson, s long,

YOU CANNOT GET MORE STACKED THAN THIS..... everyone here plays with heart, has something special to offer man, they can either shoot lights out, defend, or rebound liek crazy..... no body here is a scrub!!!! and they all got size for their positions!!!!

Butler to CLE maybe.. what?

http://chicago.suntimes.com/sports/sources-out-of-cleveland-say-jimmy-butler-will-push-for-trade-to-cavs/

How is that a good move for CLE?

Is Butler a better fit than Love? Love adds beast rebounding to his scoring .. not sure how this is a good move.
