Quote
Using 3D printed prosthetics, Derby the dog can now walk and run for the first time in his life.
He was born with small forearms and no front paws like a furry little T-Rex, and he could only move around on soft surfaces as a result of the deformity.
So 3D Systems created some new legs for him using a 3D scanner and a multi-material 3D printer that could build both the sturdy base and comfortable rubber cups.

I am surprised you posted such a video, i know you are very sensible about such cases.
A wild beast has to do abnormal things like playing the trumpet for food, horrible!!!!

Anyways, carry on:

No, I don't think an abused bear would act like that. At least I hope that's not the case.

Fair. There is a huge debate in the comments section of the video about this, many people say it is somehow obvious that the bear was trained with 'positive reinforcement'. I don't know much about that, so i can't have a strong opinion.
The guy gives a bite of food as a reward for every trick the bear does. If somehow the bear enjoys the tricks, or even just doesn't care as long as she gets food, it's fine. It is a weird subject. We will never know what the bear thinks. E.g. , one could argue that the bear does not like at all to stay in a frozen river for hours trying to catch salmons, playing the trumpet is easier and more preferable for her ( btw, what is is the correct gender for animals in English? In Greek each one has a gender, bear is a female word, dog is male, lion is neutral ). To me it still feels like the animal is abused. But that is all intuitive. Who knows...

To me... I don't think it is abused. It's not like it's in a cage and it's being whipped or something. At least, not in that video. Until there is proof that that has happened, I cannot comment further. Only positive evidence of that can make me change my mind in this case.

In Romanian, the nouns have gender, but also there's a bearess and a bear, a lioness and a lion etc.
