Walker’s work out is a staggering 2,500 sit ups and 1,500 push ups a day.  Those numbers are right.  2,500 sit ups & 1,500 push ups every 24 hours.  That definitely proves that Walker’s body isn’t just for show: those muscles know how to work.  Walker’s philosophy on working out is simple: start every day very early in the morning before the distractions of the day come around, and do that work out without quitting every single day, 365 days a year, 366 on leap years, no matter what.

Push Ups

2000 reps
Sit Ups

3000 reps
Pull Ups

1500 reps
Dips

1000 reps

It is not completely clear how Herschel Walker structured this workout throughout his day. In his video, he makes mention of performing them during commercials. Other literature suggests he started in the morning and finished at night. Regardless, there is probably no human on this earth who could perform all of those repetitions in one set.

"my body is an army and my minds a general." -- walker

Herschel Walker: I didn’t grow up with a lot of money. My high school didn’t have a lot of money to afford a lot of the expensive weights. You know all this stuff. They used that as an excuse. I started doing push-ups and sit-ups during commercials as I was watching TV. And started doing about, sometimes 2,000 push-ups, 3,000 sit-ups, 1500 pull-ups, 1000 dips, or different things like that. I started creating different hand positions for all that, and I learned that could work you out.

Herschel Walker on Howard Stern - "I Sleep Four Hours a Day and Only Eat One Meal a Day"

Howard asked Herschel what it means when he says he only sleeps 3 or 4 hours a night. Herschel said he sleeps 4 hours at the most and he only eats one meal a day. He said he doesn't eat meat anymore even though he owns a meat company. He eats salads and soup and bread. He said he does that late at night when he's going to bed. He said he's been doing that for over 20 something years. Howard asked how many calories he takes in. Herschel said he doesn't worry about that so he doesn't know.

Howard said he read that Herschel once played Russian Roulette. Herschel said he wrote a book and talked about that in there. He also talked about his multiple personality disorder. Howard explained what Russian Roulette was and Herschel said he did that over six times. He said he was alone when he did it. He said he thought of it as a competition.

Herschel said that his marriage ended because of that stuff. ... Herschel said he forgets some things like getting the Heissman trophy.

Walker is also intriguing for being one of the few pro football players to become successful without the use of free weight training. Rather than a heavy weight room regimen, Walker used bodyweight exercise, calisthenics, and conditioning, as well as martial arts training. He remains to this day an oddity in the pro football world. He has been said to do thousands of pushups and situps daily, rather than lift weights[citation needed] For the past twenty years, he claims to sleep four hours a night and only eat one meal a day during the evening, which normally consists of a salad, soup and bread.[citation needed]

weird!  he must be able to suck chi/energy from mother eartlh heheh.  how the heck does he grow/keep all the muscle?!?!

apparently, and self admittedly, he's schizophrenic.. so i imagine he can't even recall when he's eaten/worked out at times.. i imagine he loses count on stuff he's doing and then exaggerates how many sets/reps he does, and we all know he eats more than a salad/soup/bread each day.. he's a little odd that's for sure, but i don't question his work ethic, he's a beast.

edit: i'm losing respect for him as a "fighter", which he obviously isn't.. i mean, you come into mma against a hand picked opponent, fight one bout, and say you've accomplished something? what? I would have loved to see him improve and fight stronger competition... unfortunately I doubt that'll happen, "mission accomplished".

As silly as it may sound, "chi" and all that energy stuff does exist and is available to everybody... it's just a matter of knowing how to gather that. And I know it's sounds like Kung-Fu movies, but I have actually had a friend who just went to some Qigong courses and he could literally make you feel "energy" in your palm from his fingers, with his fingers being 8 inches away from your palm. That was amazing.

It felt like some sort of magnet is reacting to your skin... and he said he just learned that at qigong... nothing special about him or anything. I learned a lot of very, very interesting stuff that day. In fact, I feel like I should go to one of those meetings.

The magnet feeling... is the magnetic fields around your body. Go feel your own with your hands. I've made it strong enough to make people feel from just 8 inches, it's not that far in fact.

I used to believe in gigong, now I believe in all those "chi" users who claim all those feats to just have tough skin calluses, dead nerves, and freak genetic people with weird abilities. Such as guys who can press a spear to their neck and claim chi in their neck.
