Wow what a war, it was hard for me to score the fight because of mares is all out action style fight, but later on the rounds I could tell santa cruz was smart and focussed on mares he could counter him, he would out brawl him because he is taller and has a longer reach than mares, santa cruz was on another level, better jab and stronger jab, because he is taller and bigger reach that would increase his advantage.

nice action packed fight all the way through, mares needed a different game plan.
but I liked his style still but santa cruz was just the better fighter.

I would like to see mares fight someone his height, revenge agains gonzalez.
its not mares bad, he wasn't santa cruz was just better.
Warm up drills
   - a walk, b skip quick powerful switch (heel to hams focus), a runs, dribbles small to big to run, straight leg to runs (force, reflex, go up/forward). force to hit the ground before it hits the ground knee/hip is at 90 degrees.
   - acceleration: low heel recovery, shin angle low, drive legs back before hitting the ground and drive thighs/knee forward not up
-------------------------------------------------------------
Measuring reminder:
5 toe to heel steps = 148cm

Arm also aids the legs in driving it down with power - seifullaah73

ya man what a fight. definitely a war.

been meaning to reply to this.

everyone had questions as to what would happen when santa cruz finally stepped up, and man he answered. I've never seen him fight so good. He was bringing it like Mares, less flash, but sharper shots and i think he got the better of him in those huge exchanges. Mares really brought it too, but that was expected. Cruz is just much sharper and he doesn't tire, at all. If he got tired like a normal person, Mares might have had a chance in the later rounds... but Cruz just kept coming.

I forget the stats but, I think Cruz threw 1050 punches and Mares threw 958.

Those exchanges where Cruz/Mares would just throw non stop combination punches, was insanity.

Excellent fight!@#
