Title: Pacquiao vs Algieri
Post by: adarqui on November 22, 2014, 07:43:20 pm
Interesting fight.. If I had to bet any money i'd put it on pac, this is a huge step up for algieri.. but this kid might be a bad matchup for pac. He has the reach, conditioning, speed, and movement to make it a hard fight for pac. If he can control the distance, going to be hard for pac to dominate.

Algieri's conditioning/heart/skill vs provotnikov was very impressive.

can't wait ;f

It was an easy fight for pacquiao, but algieri just was moving around alot, he was able to counter him sometimes, sometimes pacquiao would come in aggresively and algieri didn't have power but got him on his face a lot of times with right when he goes down, but it didn't do much for pacquiao, pacquiao's mum was at it again lol, the knockdowns were very powerful except for some, where there was water in pacquiao's corner, hope they didn't put it on purpose. but pacquiao won comfortably, I wanted him to knock himout there was one instance where pacquiao was attacking him against the ropes and the ref pull him off him for no reason, which was strange, but algieri was moving alot, which is the reason why pacquiao found it hard, but I can see his age is catching up as there were some points where he got tired, countered and slowed down and cautious, but he still has the power, but his accuracy has been affected.  ;D

horrible game plan by Algieri (more so his trainers). He never had a shot with that strategy. They though pac would get tired? They gave up four rounds? They were banking on a KO? Algieri has a great jab -> didn't use it. Algieri barely sat down on any of his punches, hardly threw any of them with authority. Best part of that fight was when his trainer was talking to Max in round ~9 talking about how they are going to let Algieri loose in round 10, then algieri gets WRECKED.

He needs to get rid of his trainers/coaches. Get some real people in his corner. Worst coaching i've seen in a while.

"You have him right where you want him (After being knocked down 6 times)" -- Algieri's Coach

lmao

lmao, exactly, max was talking to the coach and he said he is in a cage and hopes to knock pacquiao out in round current 9 or 10, while they were about finished talking pacquiao got upperhand and threw powerul combinations on algieri lol, he was about to be knocked out then he said ok I will let him out of the cage.

So i agree, I was hoping the algieri against provodnikov would turn up, but algieri just had a bad game plan and bad coach, they were even saying you are doing and just continue, said round 2 instead of round, that's what you get from a kickboxing trainer lol.

but he has good legs, that he gets up straight from knockouts with a back roll or or his knees and up.

I was thinking he would stopped but his movement made it hard.
