i'd be interested to hear what the kid says about him. he might not be able to spell but he could still be a good coach.

Um sorry... but for a grown person not to be able to spell ... that shows enough about your IQ for me not to want to listen.

I mean seriously, when I see errors in texts written I pretty much jettison all that info.

I agree, I mean, I do occasionally make my share of spelling/grammatical errors, but nothing compared to how bad his blogs were. I mean, he didn't really care either how bad he misspelled shit.

This is an example:

I get this question alot from the athlethes i train and theres seems to be no real answer around on the web. This post will explain to you what determines how quick your first step is and i will give you a 4 week program that will take your first step to a new level. Also this post will go hand in hand with my previous post on attacking from triple treath. Although the techniques i gave you in that previous post will help anyone get to the rim ; getting a quicker first step will make things even easier on yourself. Lets get started.

There are 2 big things that determine how quick your first step is ; force and coordination. Force is strenght and how quicly you can apply it, so to improve the amount of force your legs put out you will need to strenghten your legs then learn to use that strenght quickly. Sice you wanan be quick going both ways , your gona have to strenghten both legs using excersises like step ups and lunges. Also you dont want just any kind of strenght , you'll need glute strenght(ass muscle strenght) to get a quick first step. So you will have to do some glute activation drills before you lift to make sure your strenghtening the glutes mostly.

Now lets talk about coordination. Coordination is how well you do the actuall movement , so this is improved by simply practicing drives to the basket and jab steps out of triple treath. Practicing these movements is also the best way to improve your ability to use your strenght quickly. Another thing you will need to do is start stretching your legs to make sure your not tight anywhere and impove your mobility. Now below is a 4 week program that will improve your first step quickness. An excersise library that will show you and explain every excersise is also included.

This guy's stuff is just plain garbage.  I don't need to purchase the actual product to make that declaration either.  He says he played college basketball in Canada and he won't even put out the school he played at.  I could make claims I play in the NBA and nobody could prove otherwise if you can't look up my credentials.  Another thing is this guy is so lazy he uses NBA tape to analyze a move a player makes.  Just hearing his analysis makes me cringe as he states the most obvious things.  I remember at one point that this guy was offering email coaching at 10 dollars on his site.  It's really a shame that this guy has attached himself to some people that actually do know what they're doing.

I mean really though, if you're buying a product from a guy like this who won't even give you his own credentials or show his face, you pretty much deserve to be ripped off.  If you're hearing stories from people going from averaging 6 PPG to 27 PPG in a matter of 2 weeks using his program, please use your damn brain.  Anybody with that kind of knowledge to do something even remotely close to that would be selling their services much higher and they would be worth every penny.

I'm still on his E-Mail subscription list, because I like to see what kind of crap he comes out with.  Now, he's offering a live Q & A with Alan Stein in exchange for a testimonial of how his stuff has helped.  I don't understand how he gets people that actually know what they're doing to help him out.  Using testimonials to advertise his own stuff  in exchange for access to a Q & A is pathetic though.

I hate hearing Alan Stein's name, he's on a handful of forums for trainers/coaches and he spams the hell out of all of them, and if you look on some pages on Facebook (like the NSCA page) (Smarter Team Training is his company) he posts his vids there, all he tries to do is get hits to them it seems.  I watched 1 of his youtubes talkin about eccentric strength training where he had a girl on a leg (hamstring) curl, where she was going up with 2 down with 1, and I was just done with him.  That methodology has been around for years, its nothing new, and he shouldn't be posting that as his advertisement.  He's really annoying to watch and listen to tho.

Not saying he is a great trainer or anything, but he does train NBA players, so he does have credibility there.  Those guys he trains would probably get great results regardless of who trained them, but he still does have experience dealing with high level athletes.  That's more than what can be said for a lot of wannabe trainers out there.
