Hey guys,
Iv got a bump/lump on the top of my knee cap which has been causing me some pain when i jump or squat.. Or even just flex my quad.

Iv seen a doctor and had an xray and bone scan done, and the doc just recons its quad tendonitis...

Yea, thats very common with tendonitis to be able to actually see some of the swelling around the knee, particularly the sides.  Make sure you rest it, anti inflammatory meds can help but they wont stop you from aggravating the injury if you dont get to the route of the problem.  Foam roll the it bands, stretch the quads, glutes, hams, and hip flexors, make sure form is good on squats and other lower body lifts, and include plenty of hamstring work in your training.

yup i have two 'lumps' (osgood schlotters bumps) on both patellar tendon insertions, from quad tendonitis when i was young.

sucks, ice helps a ton.. finding out what is inflaming it is important too, might need to avoid certain things for a while.

"Now Cornell University neurobiologists, studying the adrenal glands of rats, have discovered how chronic stress cranks up the intensity of this adrenaline response. The key to this so-called molecular memory resides in a donut-shaped protein on the surface of cells that secrete adrenaline, the hormone also known as epinephrine."

PED's in drug free sports is cheating, unethical, and weak. Athletes and/or coaches who condone/display this behavior can get lost.

"But you have never felt the burn that you get in the hip flexors from pulling back on the pedal stroke, you have never done the exercise in your life. Squatting ain't doing shit for your hip flexors blu." -- sickenin vendetta.

Hey Adarqui, I have two Osgood Schlatter's bumps as well. On each knee.  I'm 21 and I guess I am still technically growing maybe? so I still suffer from pain when I bend my knees and shift weight forward.  When I play basketball often, the pain accumulates.  How do u cope with it.  The worst thing is when I play and it kind of really hurts like as if an injury happened, and then for a few weeks, I can't play with 100% of my athleticism.
