did a little research, I've been drinking Publix brand milk as of my brokeness, I used to drink McArthur... I actually found lots of good info from Publix, but not much from McArthur:
Publix has lots of messages regarding hormone free milk + properly treated/humane treatment of their cows, so that's cool... McArthur had basically 0 on it, nothing on their page either, and a bunch of animal cruelty excerpts in the google search... I feel better about the publix milk I drink now.. I'm still annoyed but at least they seem to care, or make you think they do haha... Apparently they helped to lead the hormone free milk movement among big supermarkets.
Q: Does Publix have a position on animal welfare?
A: Publix requires animals used to provide food to Publix be raised, handled, transported and processed using procedures that are clean, safe and free from cruelty, abuse or neglect. At all times, these procedures shall be consistent with industry “Best Practices” and comply with all animal handling / animal welfare guidelines established by each respective species industry organization.
Suppliers provide third party audits to Publix on a regular basis, validating their animal handling practices. Many of our suppliers are leaders in their respective industry and have developed nationally recognized animal well-being programs.
