Indirect idea from Vag, thanks Vag Smiley

I'd rather post on my forum. Also, traditional blog format bugs me, I've never liked it.

Table of Contents: New Articles:

  1. STRENGTH / POWER + CONDITIONING COMPLEX : For vertical jump, speed, fitness, etc
A great complex for conditioning, work capacity, power, strength, and stim.
  2. ADARQ.org Officially Endorses Nke Zoom Waffle Racers
Best shoes ever, and they are only $29.99 on eastbay.
  3. WAKE THE F*$% UP - Exercises that can have you firing optimally
A few techniques to fire up the nervous system before lifts, sprints, jumps, etc.
  4. Paused Lifts For Strength Gain - Improving bench, squat, and pullups
Using paused lifts to make rapid strength gains.
  5. Verkhoshansky Notes - Methods, Ideology, Gems, & Forum Responses
    Maximal/Explosive/Reactive/Speed/Starting Strength - it's all here.
  6. 05/28/2010: Stopwatch Double Click
A powerful, yet simple method for monitoring CNS fatigue levels.
  7. 05/21/2010: An Introductory Block
An introductory block, for those who may be less experienced with training, or those in need of some initial guidance.
  8. 03/27/2010: Some post on another forum: Why people fail
Some post I made on another forum, I think it goes well with the "About a Verkhoshansky Quote" blog post.
  9. 03/24/2010: About a Verkhoshansky Quote
My take on a Verkhoshansky quote that often gets misinterpreted. Also, why special means exist for the training process.
  10. 03/03/2010: Making Progress: Mind Muscle Link
Talks briefly about the effects of visualization. Then gives a technique for bridging the emotions of heavy max effort lifting with performance training.
  11. 02/11/2010: The Single Leg Jumper's Toolbox: Part 1, 2, & 3
Includes a discussion of what is needed to improve SLRVJ and a framework for improving it.
  12. 02/17/2010: The Ratio Technique
This article discusses a simple technique for organizing training, so not to neglect one quality while emphasizing another. By grouping sessions into ratios, the overall training structure becomes simplified.
  13. 02/09/2010: POLL! Kneeling exercises for vert?
Are kneeling exercises effective, such as kneeling variations of cleans/snatches & box jumps? Weigh in & get my opinion.
  14. 02/07/2010: Making Progress - Keeping A Journal EXAMPLE (High Frequency Squat Experiment History)
Example journal, demonstrating keeping track of progress in the original post.
  15. 02/07/2010: Making Progress - Keeping A Journal
Keep a journal to avoid stagnation & maximize progress.
  16. 02/06/2010: Making Progress - Progressive Overload
Knowing when to transition from building work capacity into peaking phases is important. This article covers the basic idea of progressive overload and how it differs during a BWC or peaking phase. Since BWC & Peaking are so very different, the application of progressive overload will be aswell.
  17. 02/05/2010: Maximal Strength Effort Method (MSEM)
This method is by far, the most effective tool for realizing gains & stimulating the CNS during a peaking phase. Hardly anyone utilizes this technique, instead, they'd rather squat 5x5 while trying to peak. Anyway, this is a good read for anyone wishing to peak power.

Table of Contents: Old Articles:

  1. How performance is affected by lack of sleep
This is probably my favorite article on my site, considering so many athletes deal with these issues. Knowing, scientifically, that acute lack of sleep can have no negative impact on performance, is pretty important.
  2. Instant RFD Part 3: High Frequency Squat
My less than optimal, yet extremely effective high frequency squat experiment. This demonstrates what building a good work capacity then transitioning into a high frequency strength/power routine can accomplish.
  3. Instant RFD Part 2: ISO Extension Stim (IES)
This article goes over a little stim method I developed, based on Verkhoshansky's stim methods. If you're planning on attempting to peak your performance, this simple method is worth experimenting with.
  4. Instant RFD Part 1: Effective Stimulation For Days
This article goes over "shock methods" involving depth jumps. Slightly safer variations (4x5) of shock (4x10) are demonstrated, as well as actual scenarios, graphs, and data.
  5. Simple active-dynamic warmup
This demonstrates a simple active-dynamic warmup. Nothing too fancy, but it definitely gets the job done.
