seems like a large amount of people on this forum have tried air alert and suffered knee issues..

if you have positive or negative feedback, please post.. it'll help others make a better decision before trying it.

I tried it with a friend for a few weeks when I was younger (14 or so). Didn't have any problems with it personally. But I didn't see much of any improvement with it either. This was when I was playing ball all day every day so honestly, I was already in about as good a shape as I could've been at that age without proper weightlifting. I stopped because I didn't see the point of it at the time and that was that.

I did air alert 3. The whole shit , 16 weeks , back in May 2007 being ~32,5 years old.
Didn't gain a single inch, probably because my strength was very low back then , so ultra high volume plyos ( that AA is ) was useless.
I didn't have the slightest knee bugging during it , but then again i never had the slightest knee bugging in my entire life.

I think people without training background doing AA is pure waste of time. Dangerous for those with sensitive knees , just useless for all the others.

As for people with training background , they don't care for AA! Cheesy

ya i wouldn't imagine you would see much problems with only the first few weeks of the program, it (the volume) gets insane towards the end.

thanks for the post tho!

long long time ago, i did aa2, the first 4 weeks. After the first one I got 1" for real, then nothing else. But at that time I wasnt lifting and my vert was 20" so I guess anything that I could do back then would mean an increase in my vert.

 1 question I have, What if one is squatting 2.2xBW(my goal) and does AA? will it be helpful then? Does AA mention the strenght base needed before you undertake it? Or, Does AA even mention the lifting part of the equation

Truth =   +   + +   + =

YOU NEED STRENGTH + PLYO  =

Tried aa3, did 10 weeks, gained 2 inches, there wasnt any kind of knee injuries or any other injury, i've seen results in 7th week, and i stopped doing it because of high risk of getting injured.

I think I got like 3 inches off aa2 in like 7 weeks but I was probably just hitting a growth spurt and didn't realize I was gaining height, not vert.

Air alert is garbage imo. It's training you for muscle endurance and not for maximum vert. You'll gain inches only if you have little to no training and it is definitely dangerous with repetitions being so high, especially if not done on shock absorbing surfaces.

Yeah, that's true. I actually did the entire Air Alert Program back in 8th grade. My vert did increase by 5 inches but I'm sure if I did something like VJB or Jump Manual I would be able to have gotten better results. I seriously recommend anyone who plans on buying Air Alert not to buy it. After doing it, I have some knee problems... I healed them over the summer twice, with VJB and Become a Freak--my knee problems were mainly due to weak hamstrings/quadriceps. Anyways, don't do Air Alert, if I could go back I would not have done Air Alert. My left knee cracks everytime I bend it, does anyone know what to do with that?

crack? u mean clicked or what? mine just click at lateral side everytime i bend or squat. most probably due to arthritis. anyway, u should go for a medical checkup or something if its bothering you.

The first 7-8 weeks of Air Alert is a great beginner program, especially for uncoordinated white kids.
