Wednesday135 lb. one-legged calf raise (1 set of 10 for both) Handstand pushup (3 sets until failure) 30 lb. natural GHR (1 set of 7) Notes: Huh. I'm feeling pretty strong in my legs nowadays; I could barely hit 27.5 for 5-6 reps a few months ago at a lower bodyweight, and it was fairly easy to pop out a set of 7. I might have had one or two more reps in the tank, but I felt bad for my cousin who was holding me down, lol. It seemed like he was expending a lot of effort.

Nah, I still want that squat. I'll have to go after it in the US, though, I can't find any decent facilities for cheap here where I'm staying in the Philippines. I'm already pushing it as it is with my BSSes/one-leg half-squats/pistols since I'm loading with sandbags and random weight plates, lol. I wish I could though, I think I'd progress pretty fast in the squat. I'm about to head back to the US though in a month or two, however, so once I'm there, I'll start squatting.

FridayPickup halfcourt game One leg half-squat off a box (3 sets of 7) Notes: Tested my jump after the game that day and surprisingly, I'm almost back to where I was before. I hit a solid 35" with my wrist smacking squarely on the rim. I must've really kept up my strength even with my muscle/bodyfat gains to get a jump like that, since I haven't been doing nearly enough plyos. It shows up in the half-squats, really, since I used to struggle with even 4 reps. And as you can see on Monday--Saturday30 lb. natural GHR (1 set of 7) Notes: GHR is for serious. Love that burn. I had some serious hamstring going on, though. I mean, I don't even know if my hamstrings are strong compared to other dudes, but they sure felt strong when I was pulling myself up with that weight on. Felt beautiful. I'll keep improving this; I'll slowly take it to 2 then 3 sets then up the weight when I can do a solid three without much form interruption.MondayOne leg half-squat off a box (2 sets of 10) Notes: -- beasted those two sets of ten. I guess my body just had to adjust to the poundage after doing (comparatively) light pistols and BSSes at a heavier bodyweight. I would've done one more set for both, but there was some time constraints... So next time, 3 sets of 10, then I'm upping the weight. Somehow. I don't know how I'm gonna add more weight, but I'll do it.

TuesdayOne of my friends took a flight back to his home province; won't be able to see him for a good while, I think. We played a ball game of five-on-five for old times' sake and had fun. I was actually the fastest I've ever been; must be the GHRs and return to the 225 lbers. I'll be even faster come time to head back to the US. I plan on using my fifty lb. sandbag on these natural GHRs once I can bang out a good few (15 or so) with 30 lbs. I will do it by March.

Wednesday30 lb. natural glute ham raise (2 sets of 7) 130 lb. one legged calf raise (2 sets of 10) Notes: Eh. I was a little fatigued from the basketball game yesterday, so the GHRs honestly weren't the best that they could've been. I'll nail it next workout, on Saturday.

Saturday225 lb. one leg half-squats off a box (3 sets of 10) Note: Wasn't able to squeeze in the GHRs since I thought I would be too fatigued for Monday. Monday265 lb. one leg half-squats off a box (3 sets of 5) Pullups Leg raises Note: Definite personal record. Weight really flew up; I was surprised I couldn't get more than 5. I wonder when I'll be flying off one leg, lol. I'd probably have to do 350 off one leg or something before I even dunk it with one leg, since it's really two leg jumping that's my strong point. Chest work in a little bit. Edit: And at least we know I can squat 265 with two legs, lol. I know some of you that read my journal (I mean, if there are any) would've noticed that I've been doing 225 for some time now, albeit at different frequencies. But there you go. I actually think I can do more than 300+ two legged ATG, just not quite sure what's the weight exactly.

yeah , wtf , 265lbs on one leg is insane!!! Also do you do the eccentric on one leg too or just sit on the box and then lift one leg?

The box is about parallel. I try to control the eccentric as best I can; I can pretty much lower it at a decent pace off the working leg, lol. @ vag: I'm just wondering really how high I can get up off one leg and how much I can squat off two- I've never made it my priority due to how I train and lack of a real gym, so it's something interesting to think about.

Not sure about the carryover on normal squats. As i posted on another thread ( the shrimp one ) , the legs overloading from the equivalent calculated normal-squat load might be the same, but controlling and stabilising a much heavier weight totally changes the mechanics and natrure of the movement. I was on a similar phase early this season , didn't go to gym and did a lot of single-leg parallel box squats, i expected to find the 'equivalent' double leg strength when i got back to the gym , not true at all. 5x265 is insane though , keep it up! On another note , i did one-legged squats because i did not have enough weights , you obviousely have a bar and weights, so why not normal squats?

Friday265 lb. One leg half squat off a box (3 sets of 5) MondayHalfcourt game of ball 265 lb. one leg half-squat off a box (3 sets of 5) Tuesday85 lb. pushups Pullups WednesdayChinups Note: Haven't tested my jump since a week ago, but going by the feeling in my legs, I might set a PR soon. 38" sounds like a good number. @ vag - I actually do not have a barbell setup, unfortunately. I load with sandbags and some weight plates. It's ghetto, but gets the job done. I'm really looking forward to a decent gym in the US, lol. I've talked to Lance and adarq on the carryover to normal squats and they said the same thing, pretty much. Ah, well. I feel like I've built decent power in my legs though, so it mustn't be too low a carryover. And yeah, thanks man. I'll definitely keep progressing.
