Sik bench and pushpress man. I want to have a 3 plate bench by the end of the year. I know it don't mean much for jumping but in the gym everybody respects you more if you can bench more and also if you can bench a lot you have a lot of muscle.
Thanks man. Yeah, unfortunately big bench equals respect. It would be more sensible if it was a big squat, DL, clean or snatch. For athletic purposes anyways. I would like a 130-140kg powerclean+pushpress in 2012. And 160-170kg bench. Yeh nobody really does those lifts at the gym i go to. At my gym everybody benches and a few people squat and you see the occasional bodybuilder doing deadlifts. When i deadlift everybody looks at me like wtf are you doing. Their probs thinking isn't the bar supposed to come up over your head or something like the olympic lifters. But yeh those are some big numbers but you're already pretty strong and you know what you're doing so you'll probably get those lifts easy in 2012.

Random post from T-nation- "Best advice I can give, though it will sound like a broken record, is to squat, squat, squat and heavy if you want to improve your sprint times. One of my favorite anecdotes related to this is from "Romo" (Bill Romanowski's autobiography). He talks about when he first started working with Remy Korchemny on speed work and Remy asked him if he was squatting. Romo (to my surprise) said he wasn't and was only doing leg presses for lower body work.So Remy tells Romo to start squatting and after awhile, excited with his progress, Romo comes back to Remy and tells him he can squat 400. Remy answers, "Good. Now you can squat as much as my women sprinters." Granted most of Korchemny's athletes were juiced to the gills - he was one of the guys taken down with the BALCO bust - but I think there's something to be learned there, nonetheless."

Yeah in two of the gyms I go to full body is titties, tri, bi. I hope so. But I need to focus more on my bench to get there.

Tuesday Played tennis for warmup. Just easy volleys, no fast running or anything. Rolls and twists and stuff for about 15min. Shot put. Decent technique. Working on some of the things I did well in the competition. Worked out well, but it was damn cold. -10 C I think. Jumps. Also in -10. Slowed me down.
