F*ck

Apparently, my body thinks sleeping about 5 hours in between hours and hours of studysessions aint the way to prepare for a beast squatting session.
Got to the gym at 9.30 pm (which I avoid, like my workouts in the morning) weighed in at 81 kg w shoes.
Warmed up dribbling
Did the tuckjumps (any cues btw?) and a couple of quite high max jumps off of 2 legs, fealt real explosive and springy.

Then started squatting, from the get go felt kinda weakish. Ramped up the weight quick and at about 260 pounds I was already having trouble getting out off the hole without using a bit of back extention. For the first time in my life the bar also actually hurted resting on my shoulders, no matter what grip.
On my second rep I felt a heavy contraction off the lower back to make up for my legs and i immediately unracked after.
Switched over to some deep, quad dominant deadlifting but had the same problem keeping my back out of it.
Decided to go home and get some early sleep, doing anything else felt like an injury waiting to happen. Abs also feel extremely sore for a 10 min squatting workout, but that might have come from sitting on my ass for two days straight.
Got my test tomorrow at 9 am and will decide what to do after.

just think max height PLUS getting off the ground very quick, think powerful arm swing.

Been real busy with my tests and moving my girl, no training that was worth mentioning.

Relatively 'Big' game today against my former team, will try and catch some warming-up dunks on camera:

Win/Loss
Points: 5 (1/2 2pt 0/1 3pt and 3/4 ft)
Assists: 7-8
Steals: 2 charges, 1 steal.
Turnovers: 1
Rebounds: 4
Minutes: 20

Recap
Great win.
Carried over that attitude of an extra bounce in my step and really killed it the first half.
Had to ref a game before my own game started and wait around for 2 more hours so my legs were dead.
Only had one nice two hander that my camera-man missed. Will get some on tape soon anyhow.

Got in at about the 2 minute mark in the first half, up untill then our first point was just killing it, dude had like 4 NBA pullup threes in a row (he doesn't normally score a lot or play THIS well) and some sick dishes.
Played at the 2 spot as we road him a bit and got a couple of charges, boards and intangibles, shot a quick long airball though out of a set, kinda too excited, eh, shrugged it off quick.
2nd quarter was mine, pg was subbed out so I controlled the tempo.
Had about 5-6 pretty slick assists in a row, broke a couple dudes down off the dribble and got a couple stops/ boards, crowd got into it as we pushed to a 20 point lead. Was really feeling it so pulled up for an NBA three on the break, just rimmed out and out of their break immediately got a transition three in my face. That was really the only moment that didn't turn out the way I wanted, rest was nice.
Even though I didn't score much, it was one of the best quarters I played in a long time, real calm but aggressive and in the moment dancing around.

2nd half wasn't as nice, basically our first unit and our pg got real cold real quick. Too much individual shooting. Got subbed in with pretty much our biggest ballhogs at the same time.
Was trying to get that flow going we had in the first half but that ballhog shot three realy quick shots which caused our coach to take a time out and tell us he was going to sub EVERYONE that broke the plays. Dude held me responsible, bah, no more pullups on the break.
Played it by the book, had one turnover where the defender swiped at my face out of nowhere, no call, still had about 3-4 more assists off set plays but didn't play as freely.
Got me a couple of free throws and made 3 out of 4, pushed the lead back from 12 to 20, got subbed back out.
Overall pretty satisfied, really want to push my scoring numbers up but those assists just came a lot easier today.
Was agressive and calm on the break which was a huge plus, couple of real nice moves and some great D too.
First PG got a lot of shine and was def. the MVP, I got in a close second though.

Couldn't start this monday, sucked bad and had some tiring private issues, all solved and doing good now.
Did upper body weights today, worst workout I've had in a long time, guess that's what you get when you lay off the weights/food cause you slacked in class.
Lost weight, about 4 lbs, from 81 to 79 kg.
Tired too, couldn't stop yawning, bah.

(kilograms)
1.UPPER BODY STRENGTH + SHOOTING COOL DOWN
- BENCH PRESS - 5 x 5 @ Max weight allowed
85 x 3 (+ 2 spotted)
80 x 4
75 x 5
75 x 5
75 x 4
- PRESS - 5 x 5
45 x 4
45 x 4
42.5 x 5
42.5 x 4
42.5 x 5
WEIGHTED DIPS - 3 X 5
25 x 4
25 x 5
25 x 4
- PULLUP - 3 x AF
3 x 6 (WTF)
- DUMBELL ROWS - 3 X 10
26 kg
- CORE
none
- STRETCH

Was hard to keep going, have to make it more of a routine in stead of a thinking thing, don't want to go easy on myself.
Bad workout but I did struggle, so I guess the stimulus aint that bad.

2. REACTIVE + OLYMPIC LIFTS (TECHNIQUE) WORKOUT

- WARMUP
- REACTIVE-WORK: MR TUCK JUMPS: 5 x 5
-- OLYMPIC LIFTING ROUTINE (BAR ONLY)
Mostly (power) Drop Snatches working up to a couple of pulls;
Focus on keeping back tight, dropping quick, catching weight and dropping through.
Pushing Hips forward and knees out (right leg = less stable).
Groin is going to have to get stronger.
Pulls have to roll arms more and use calves better (upward in stead of forward)

Notes;
no time for rest of reactive work, good shit though.

Yus, about the best Oly lifting coach in our country, Tom Bruijnen.

Saturday stimmed some squats with 100 kg, should have been real light but felt heavier then usual, guess I'm starting from scratch again.
Shot for about an hour and a half too, good stuff.

Game today:

Win/Loss
Points: 10 (3/4 2pt 1/1 3pt and 1/2 ft)
Assists: 5
Steals: 1
Turnovers: 4
Rebounds: 4
Minutes: 30

Recap
Awfull Loss
Didn't play that bad but did not play outstanding either.
Felt like a bad game though.
Basically our first pg got in foul trouble 1st quarter and I was in for the rest of the first half.
Started off with a nice three and an agressive baseline drive off the pick and roll.
Missed a layup off another good drive (got the coach on my back immediately), after that went baseline again and lost the handle, awfull t.o.
Defence wasn't good as usual, refs were on our backs so we couldn't put on any pressure and got beat a couple times cause of it, hurted my confidence which really shouldn't have happened.
Got doubled hard and picked up my dribble = turnover 2, kicking myself over that one.
Had a nice jumper to beat the buzzer off a iso-play to finish the first half, but after those turnovers I wasn't a threat out there, mostly just setting up plays and going through the motions.
Wasn't having that much fun either.

Second half wasn;t that much better, had a crap turnover off a horns play where I rushed the pass and had a bs travel call. Coach was on my ass again telling me to set up plays, had a couple of nice stops and assists on the break, about 4 in a row as we pushed it back to a 4 point deficit.
If we would have hit a killer three or drive we would have been back in the game, but I didn't feel that moment when I was out there, didn;t take that responsibility and we lost control with a couple of technical fouls and some tough shots on their part.
Basically I didn;t really play with that extra bounce in my step, that feeling that noone out there can stop me.
Had it untill the T.O.'s started but lost it too soon.
Good lesson but a tough one, really wanted to make a statement this game, really have to stop playing it so damn clean and full of coincience; coach mode came snuck back in me somehow.
Going to make a mental plan on how to stay positive and keep that bounce in ym step.

Threw a tomahawk two hander down after the game out of frustration though, got up quite nicely.
Really have to measure my vert, basically, my arm span-height ratio is 1-1 and I'm 6 feet.
I get about 4 inches over my wrist on the ring so I guess my highest touch would be about 10'8/9 ish?
What kinda running vert would that get me?

Anyway, starting the program TOMORROW and have met the preperations this time around.
Time to rest, going to have to

Uploaded a small vid of a couple of dunks I did before squatting as a reference point.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YOs6FRu3ZtY

Took me a long ass time to convert the videos and all that, so I'm off to bed, updating rest tomorrow.

Dammit.

Been at it quite a bit this week, but ever since I changed squattingstyles back to high bar I feel like shite.

Can't even put the bar back on with about 250, while I was used to doing 260 x 5 high bar about 2 years ago before I switched to low bar and getting to 300 +
Can't stop my back from rounding slightly at the bottom and I'm extremely carefull so I won't go past 230 without getting my form back on track and even better then it used to be.

Uploading a couple form vids and urgently need some feedback, can't go through with the program this way.
Vid will be up in a couple, working on it, but feedback is highly apreciated.

Vid will be up in a couple, working on it, but feedback is highly apreciated.

ya man link us when you get those videos up, will hold advice until I see them.

peace man

"Now Cornell University neurobiologists, studying the adrenal glands of rats, have discovered how chronic stress cranks up the intensity of this adrenaline response. The key to this so-called molecular memory resides in a donut-shaped protein on the surface of cells that secrete adrenaline, the hormone also known as epinephrine."

PED's in drug free sports is cheating, unethical, and weak. Athletes and/or coaches who condone/display this behavior can get lost.

"But you have never felt the burn that you get in the hip flexors from pulling back on the pedal stroke, you have never done the exercise in your life. Squatting ain't doing shit for your hip flexors blu." -- sickenin vendetta.
