Yeah pushpress is a lot of timing and technique so you should be alright. Personally I don't bench a lot and my pushpress is probably less than 5 kg's lower than my bench. Keep at it, you'll get more pounds Wink

Yeh will do, i like the push press a lot so looking to push those numbers up.  Another thing i noticed is that when i was benching and got my new bench PR was that i got stuck more in the middle of the concentric phase, it used to always be i would get stuck near the bottom.

I'm thinking maybe that's a result of the explosive lifting days, so now i get a better push out of the hole.

end wk 5 phase 1 today, checked max trap bar deadlift got 315 this time PR again

got a vid of it up

http://www.youtube.com/...h?v=KfykAh4Q0o8

felt like was jumping a ltitle bit higher today, feeling a lot more motivated and everythign now that started to break PR's and jumping a little bit higher

mobility started to come around, don't feel as restricted when squatting/deadlifting, and hip flexors not as tight

i think i kidna figured out the soleus and knee pain when squatting, it's hard to explain and i still don't completely understand or have it figured out what i'm doing but it's like on my righ tleg i'm putting my lower leg at a certain angle so that all the weight is being put on the soleus and knee, kinda like u were saying adarqui.

NOt sure why i was doing it, it must be somethign my body is doing as a defensive mechanism or something, maybe it's afraid to put the weight on my quads.  I'm thinking that's it cause i have the pain on the way up but i think it's the way i'm going down which causes it and the quads are a big part of the eccentric portion

congrats on the PR..

still can't see the vid though.. for some reason you're pasting a url with /...? in it.. it's not the correct url.

you can also do "["youtube"]"<url>"["/youtube"]" (without the quotations) to embed your video right into the forum.. so we can click right in the thread.

yeh i know, i wrote it in the description of the vid.  I didn't even realize i did so till after i watched the vid though which isn't that good, i guess it could be cause i lifted it rather fast, a lot faster than i was expecting it to, or because of my general posture since i have an anterior pelvic tilt.  Hopefully it was just cause of the lift speed

ouch... right knee is killing me right now.  I bought a thera cane and received it two days ago and used it to work on areas all over my right thigh, especially right above the knee to the left and right, as well ason the quad, and the it band

It hurts so much worse now than it did before, it started hurting like this when i woke up the next day after using the thera cane and it hasn't gone away.  I don't know if it was just cause maybe i did too much too soon and i put too much pressure, or what.

Not sure if i should go out and do the workout today which includes sprints at 100 percent, squats, etc and maybe the knee will start too feel fine or if something actually happened to it.  It kinda feels like this numb pain that won't go away now

k so today is the last workout of week 2

few things to mention

PR on pushpress with 140, nothing special, only done the pushpress a few times so each time expecting to add weight still good to have a PR though

-realized that when i squat i sit back but at the same time i bring my knees forward, it's real weird, could be to counterbalance cause maybe not enough ankle flexibility

-have same pain in ass literally, think it's piriformis syndrome or something, stretching should fix it up

-starting to feel more explosive now, played a 2 on 2 game a few days ago and was kicking ass

-getting close to that first dunk, i can feel it

-hoping to gain about 7 inches , someone else who i talked to who is about done with the program said he gained 5 so far and has a week of the deload left so he might gain another 1 or 2.  Said he didn't gain anything either till like wk 7, as is what adam says in the ebook that phase 1 is overtraining phase, expect to even feel weaker at end and during middle of phase 2 wks 6-10 the gains should start pouring in so we'll see what happens

nice man..

the only thing i can say is, if squatting continually wrecks you, then think about playing with difference stances and even above parallel squatting.. best thing i ever did was start going above parallel/close stance.. not saying you need too, but if your knees keep bugging, going deep might just not be good for you at this moment..

above parallel close stance takes a crapload of stress off my knees and hips.. hits my hamstrings much harder...

just an idea..

cant wait to see that first dunk

finished wk 7 workout 1 today hard workout, core is getting crazy
Haven't like checked my vert in a while, but feeling pretty explosive when playing in like 3 on 3 games.

Realized i am like bending my knee kind of when i squat instead of using it as a hinge like it's supposed to be, so i'm bending it and putting all the stress there

pull ups are down which is annoying 3 max sets last time were 10 wide, then 8 paralle, then 5 regular. Have but on some bodyweight though

my goal was to gain about 1 lb per wk, now i'm at about 161 from the starting 156 when i started so doing decent. Have gained a decent amount of fat as well though.

Tomorrow got the depth jump landing my vert when i started was about 27 so figure i'll use a 24 inch box. Been waiting 7 weeks to do this exercise. really not too familiar with depth jumps and plyos, just gonna focus on landing with knees sligthly bend, but back and on balls of feet.

thanks man, waiting for that dunk for a long time.  I have been at like a 27 inch vert now for like a year so it's time so start improving and get some real solid gains.   Still trying to get it on the 9 ft 9 hoop at the rec center nearby me, can't jump with the ball.  Hopefully i'll get that this saturday

yeh i was trying to put a lot of effort trying to go parallel before, but now just going down to a comfortable depth. Once i get the mobility and flexibility i'll start getting there.  I realized my squat max is lower than i thought, maybe 225 or something.

I haven't been doing any progressive depth jump landings, but i think i should be fine with 24, if i can't land tem properly i'll move down to 18.

When you squat i've read it's bad for the knees to come up all the way on the eccentric, like u should still keep ur knees bent a little and not finish the movement.  What do you think adarqui?
