Just realized I jumped 31 766 jumps in 2011 Have any of you done some statistics like that? or am I the only one that find such stuff interesting? : P

Two workouts yesterday. Sat a new PB in the standing high jump: 1,39m (4ft7) I usually don't do much standing jumps, but there will be a competition in it at indoor nationals. I'd like to give it a try:)

Looking good, but have you ever tried doing double arm swing bounds/takeoffs? I'm a single arm swing guy myself and find the double arm very difficult/overloads my leg when I plant/very hard to coordinate - but I was wondering if you tried it.

Thanks Yes I have tried double armswing in the high jump and triple jump. But you can't use double in the long jump, so I don't do it on bounding, because I want it to be as related to the LJ as possible

Of course you CAN use it, but it won't be a perfect jump, and you won't jump as long as you could have, if you used a proper armshift instead. You won't see any good longjumpers using a double arm shift. (Check out the WR-holders in the men and women's LJ: Mike Powell and Galina Chistyakova)

By using double arm-shift in the LJ you won't get the right angle at take-off, lose speed, and overrotate in the air. Remember that the point in long jump is not to get up very high, but to maintain the speed throughout the entire jump. The take-off should be incredible powerful though, but the power should go in the right direction
