Saturday August 13

Went to workout with Kenny because i am determined to play d3 basketball if i go to that level school. also, recruited athlete status would help immensely with college admissions so its killing 2 birds with 1 stone. unfortunately, coach kenny has a tendency to do REALLY dumb things but whenever i work out with him, i always play better so whatever. For example, we did high rep 30 inch box jumps/reverse depth jumps. ughh. at least the basketball itself was okay

Monday August 15

i was so pumped to play poughkeepsie, always one of the better teams in new york but first, i had to visit binghampton university in the morning. Luckily, that school is my safety because i absolutely hated every aspect of it. of course, the 6 total hours of driving weren't exactly what i was hoping for on a game day as well.

 Anyway, we started off so good against them as we were up ~20-10 at first but they went on a run at the end of the 1st half and beginning of the 2nd half to take a 10 point lead. we eventually cut it down to 5 but ran out of time and lost. this was my first really intense game since my injury as there was lost of talk from the plethora of fans there as well as the players and it got heated at times. my defense in the first 10 minutes of the game was absolutely atrocious as most of their first points came against me on defense. i toughened up a lot though as the game went on so thats good. i had 10 points, 1-2 3s, 4-7 fg, 3 rebs. im mad that i had an open three with us down by 5 and 2min left that i missed. i had scored on the last 2 possessions (a backdoor cut for a layup and an and-1 on a 2 on1 fastbreak) and i was really pumped. it would have been a huge shot to make but this will keep me working hard. i did a better job finishing today as i converted the fastbreak and-1 and made 2 layups off backdoor cuts but i did miss a layup off an offensive rebound where i had to do a 360 so i didnt get blocked by the crowd of jerseys. i also had a one on one fastbreak with their best player who will go d1 in 2 years and perfectly, and successfully, used a move i had been practicing but i missed the layup. it was a tough finish as i was rapidly moving to the left while i was still on the right side and jumping off my left foot. i wonder if it would have gone in if i finished with my left instead of right hand.

Bahhh, so now that school has started, my parents are never home to spot me so I finally caved in and joined Planet Fitness. I'm determined to use the few free weight stuff though. haha. also, all my friends are there so its a good socialization opportunity during the week.

Sep 11 Workout- shout out to all of those who have served, are serving, and will serve our country.

TENNIS 2 hours
WARMUP
LUNGE- 135x5, 3 sets- pretty good, lots of quad

SQUAT- 1156, 3 sets- lol, get fucking stronger. decent form/depth

HYPEREXTENSIONS (cant believe I found them here)-
1x15 2 leg, 3x12 single leg. easy and lots of glute/ham pump. def feel strong

PLATE SWINGS @10lbs- 3x10- nice

SL CALF RAISES (on smith Sad) 115x10,3 sets. pretty easy

PLANK with single leg/arm variations- 3x30 seconds. not happy with these

CHINUPS 3x6- decent form, need to get stronger but not bad

Basically, I haven't worked out in awhile and now that I have a membership and a rythme with school, I will be a regular again. Everything was surprisingly good, except for planks. I'm doing some jumps today and I'm curious to see how it goes. Gym tomorrow will include plyo in addition to everything else. I'm still a bit sore in the quad, but its no big deal.

Also, the Planet Fitness that I joined isn't just any planet fitness. It's THE planet fitness. The one that kicked out the guy who was grunting when squatting 500 pounds and made national news, as well as attention on this site last year. Will post and workout soon.

SEPTEMBER 14

Went to the gym with my friend, who likes to workout more like a body-builder than an athlete so he used mostly machines the whole time and i did my usual shit. lol, social fail.

SQUAT- 125@ 3X6- nice

HYPEREXTENSIONS-  very nice with the glute
DOUBLE LEG X 15
SINGLE LEG 4X12 each

PLATE SWING @ 2x10- eh, dont like these much with a plate. wouldn't mind a kettle-bell but not available

My friend and I had to go so I didn't get to do upper and core Sad

DOUBLE LEG X 15

September 23

Played 2 hours of tennis, then went to the gym with two of my friends. Unfortunately, none of my friends go hardcore on lower body like I do, which usually means my gym visits consist of meeting at the gym, talking for a few minutes as I stretch while they do their first exercise, we splitting up for 45 minutes, then meeting again as I lunge and DB press while they do like 5 variations of bicep curls, then I hang out with them as they finish their workout. lolol.

I did get dehydrated today at tennis as I forgot my water and I was getting pretty dizzy by the end, which was a bit scary. I actually played decently all things considered and look forward to next tennis clinic. Anyway, I think my dehydration at tennis probably hindered my workout a bit. I was also a bit tired as well as I have been drowning in AP work all week. Also, I'm finding myself enjoying squatting a bit, which is good.

SQUAT
@125 3x8- pleasantly surprised with these
@125 1x6 failed here.

DL HYPER
1x12

SL HYPER
3X10

LUNGE
@125X5- this was easy
@135 2X6- harder than expected
@135 1X5- was really tired on this one

DB PRESS
@20 3X12- nice, fairly easy

CHIN
x7- felt like I could have done more but wanted to keep some gas in the tank
x5- disappointed about this one
x5- i did this with my feet crossed, which I've never done before and liked
