Heh. So adarq practically coerced me into starting a log here. For anyone who doesn't know I'm a competitive olympic weightlifter although I'm still pretty new to the sport. Past PRs: 90kg snatch (95 with straps) 110kg clean and jerk (115 pressed out) 120kg clean 140kg front squat 170kg back squat 200kg deadlift I'm down a fair bit on these at the moment due to getting sick and then taking three weeks off after NZ National Weightlifting Championships. Current best lifts: 80kg snatch 100kg clean and jerk 3x5 120kg back squat At the moment I'm just trying to get my squat strength back up so I'm doing something like: Monday: Powersnatch to max OHS to a double on 80% of snatch Dead hang snatch 5x3 Squat 3x5 Wednesday: Snatch to max Hang snatch 3x3 Squat 3x5 Friday: Clean and jerk to max Squat 3x5

sick front squatting, how heavy, ~81kg? forgive me if im way off.
Nah I'm more like 86-87kg. I'm training hard with a major focus on strength but not deliberately bulking. Trying to stay at an off season weight of 86-87kg and come down to 84-84.5kg for competitions. Monday 29th of November: Hang Snatch: 2x3 30kg 1x3 40kg,60kg,60kg 3x3 70kg TOAST. Decided not to squat. Didn't get enough sleep after the mamoth front squat. 3x5 120kg on Wednesday.

Wednesday 1st of December: Felt a bit looser. Still pretty slow and stiff though. Snatched up to 70kg. Struggling with flexiblity. Squat 3x5 120kg Kept the squats light. Friday 3rd of December Clean and Jerked up to an easy 100kg. 110 went up pretty solidly. I couldn't even rack 120 WTF? Time for more RDLs. Saturday 4th of December Snatch 3x1 30kg 1x1 40kg,50kg,60kg,70kg,80kg 80 was pretty solid. I had a crack at 90 but the pull just wasn't high enough. Need more pulling strength. Squat 1x5 70kg,90kg,105kg 3x5 120kg RDL 3x5 80kg Tomorrow I'm gonna do some powersnatches and then squat 3x5 130kg. I'm headed for 3x5 140kg squats on Saturday and I'll push the RDLs up a bit as well. I'm tempted to switch it up and alternate between paused squats and squats and RDLs. Pulling strength is really my major issue right now.

Monday 6th of December: Weightlifting club committee meeting so didn't have time to get much training in. On the up side, I'm building a nice new platform  Warmup Snatch 2x1 30kg,40kg 1x1 50kg,60kg 2x1 70kg Back in today to do some more snatches, pulls and squats.

Tueday 7th of December: Snatch 3x1 30kg 2x1 40kg 1x1 50kg,60kgh,70kg,80kg 0/3 attempts at 90 not finishing the pull Snatch pull 4x3 90kg all pretty explosive Squats 1x5 70kg,100kg,115kg 3x5 130kg tempted to go for 3x5 140kg on Saturday for an all time PR RDL 3x5 100kg Glutes are working well but my hamstring and lower back strength isn't great. Something to work on.

Dude your squat numbers don't seem all that low from what I can see! Not all that far from 2x body weight on front squat  That's nuts dude.

What's your bodyweight and bodyfat at the moment?
I took four weeks off training after NZ national champs and ended up gaining a stupid amount of fat. I weighed 88kg this morning with what skinfold calipers tell me is 20% bodyfat  I'm back on with my diet though and going to maintain an off season bodyfat percentage of around 15% which means basically I just need to get back down to about 84kg. I'm not deliberately cutting weight, just cleaning up my diet and getting as strong as possible throughout the year. I'm not going to worry too much about the monthly interclub competitions this time and try and get some more long term improvement going.
