I love doing handstand straight legs, I do it the same way and I use my wrist to counter the way my body is falling, if I feel my legs are falling behind me I would press on my fingers on the floor to keep it steady and if falls back to original position I started I would push on my palm. I haven't done it in a while so I can't do it as long.

nice. i'll remember that when I "try them". I don't think i've ever actually held a handstand before. When I was a kid I did headstands lmao, but not handstands.

The other problem I have is when doing handstands you shouldn't be afraid of falling back, as most of the times I do handstand I don't push my legs far back, so I would recommend keep experimenting pushing far back beyond comfort zone else everytime you go up you will fall back down the same way.
