Knee clicking on extension

(1/1)

Rix:
So I've been hearing this clicking noise when I extend my right leg. I can also feel the click if I touch my knee when extending. It's happening right at the top of my right knee, a bit to the right. As of yet, absolutely no pain in that area including after lifting/playing ball...I'm just a little nervous about it cause obviously something isn't right. Anybody have any experience with a similar clicking/cracking noise? Any ideas on what I can do to get rid of it?

ghettoracer:
it's like a tiny pop noise right?  when i rotate my legs in a certain position i can make it click every time.  it'll also make the sound if i flex the toe up while squeezing/flex the whole leg, or when i simple squat down ATG while touching both knees together.

one massage therapist explained that it is air trapped in the tendon sometimes and the sound is just the air getting squeezed out and it's nothing to worry about.  assuming we're talking about the same noise.

That is a good article. When I took anatomy, the teacher told me the exact same thing Gettoracer's massage therapist told him.

It's not bad, but it's not good either. If there is no pain, then you might not need to worry about it but read the link above.
If it hurts, see a doctor.

BOOM! BMULLY SMARTS YA'LL
