Title: Hello Everyone :D
Post by: A-tone18 on October 05, 2010, 03:14:53 pm
Hey, I wanna increase my jump just a few more inches, right now im at about 37inch running vert off 2 legs.

My height is about 5'10ish with 7'3 reach.

Ive never properly weight trained before like squated. I am just wondering if you think I should start, or maybe do something else. In the past ive done some plyos and random bodyweight exercises but nothing much because I didn't have access to a gym.

Thanks  :)

hey man welcome to the forum.. that's a pretty impressive RVJ to start with without any weight training. Quick answer, strength training will help you improve your vert/running/speed vert etc. Long answer, well, check this thread out:

That'll allow me to get a better idea of what you're capable of, how your diet is, when you sleep, what kind of injuries you've had etc.. it's easy to just say "do x, y & z" but it's less effective. Most likely i'd advise you to start with the intro block article I wrote on this site, but who knows, based on what you would fill out in that 'questionnaire', i might not :) So if you're interested in journaling your training, fill that out and drop it in the journal section.
