720p/240fps video huh? man, i love the idea, but my sub-30'' jumping those days doesn't qualify for it.   :P

well vert needs age-grading just like anything else.. eventually 25" vert will be amazing, when we're 50. ;f

pc!

That is true of course, but I can't compromise with it. I don't want to 'amazing for my age' but mediocre. I want to be above average, where average is not my age average of course, i mean the average bball playing guy in his mid 20s that just doesn't train for vert. That's how i did it anyway, started at 33y.o. with 25'' RVJ, got to 35'' at 37, had all the average joes at the bball court dropping their jaws whenever i got a good jump in. Had random opponents asking my teammates how i do it, if i was a former track&field athlete etc. And that was not at my prime, it was 10 years after my prime, i was a rusty old fart already.

ya, it definitely feels good when people take notice. It's funny though when you think about it.. if you're out there jumping low, no one really cares. They don't really understand the work put in, the journey, etc. If years later you are jumping high, everyone takes notice, but they (usually) can't put the culmination of that work into perspective. Same thing happens for professional/olympic athletes too though. Everyone always sees the end result, which is a shame. Wish more athletes shared their training/daily nutrition etc.

I can't compromise with sub 30s now.

ya, i understand you on that completely. taking vid of my jumps didn't even cross my mind until i got back to 30".

once i hit ~32-33" recently, I got the itch back to try and get some footage.. i'd really love 35" again, man that would be amazing.. you definitely start feeling more "float" at 35".

So 30+ or no vid.
But hey, no worries, i'll get there so you'll get the vid  ;)  :highfive:  :ibjumping:

yup. get it.  :highfive:

Well said.

So back on topic, did you receive your s7 yet? Have you tested the video?
It has a 'slow motion' video mode that works just like the iphone, normal speed at beginning and end of footage and ultra-slo-mo ( x16 or sth ) in the main part.
But i am curious if the normal 720p mode shoots at 240p. Gotta transfer it to the pc and i haven't done it yet, the in-mobile file details don't say the frame rate.

Edit:
Yup, just checked, looks like the 720p/240fps is only available in the slow motion thing. If you shoot a normal video @720p it is 30fps.
I can live with this, although i'd prefer to have an option to shoot 'normally' @720p/240fps and then choose what to slow-down, not have the entire video slowed down and choose what to speed-up.
You do have that option for 1080p/60fps though, that is also cool, 60 frames are pretty smooth for x4/x8 and it is FHD too.

It is EXTREMELY powerful. My previous one was already very good one, quad-core / 2GB RAM / 1080 x 1920 display. This one puts it to shame, it does everything 2-3 times faster and smoother.
The graphics chipset is strong too, display is 1440 x 2560 and yet everything is smooth and fast, even when packed with widgets.
Add the good body/construction, the full water-resistance, a very strong cam, and for the 'edge' version you also get a few 'special' GUI features.
What more can you ask? It is a true beast, i only have it less than a week and i can confidently say it is 1000% worth its high price.
