I prefer American MMA rules, but wish they had pride-like production. Just get that lady announcer who screamed everyone into the ring, and really good fans (people who don't boo within 30 seconds), and rings instead of octagons, and I think MMA would be alot more fun to watch.
Those Pride head stomps were insane, but just too much lmfao. I heard Pride also had a major PED/Drug problem too, people jacked up on crazy shit to go in there and battle it out. eek lmao.
Pride Never Die!!! :D

Yeah the Japanese love the theatre of it. Like you said they're also a pretty educated crowd. I always preferred Pride rules. Especially when you watch guys like Sakuraba and Gracie battle it out. Also the freak match ups were frightening and brilliant at the same time.
Yeah it was the wild west over there with PEDs. Just look at Overeem back then vs now. Mark Coleman, Randleman, etc. I agree on the head stomps though. I think there's an organisation somewhere that allows those plus soccer kicks which are just brutal.

Just lucky those sports illustrated outtakes came out :ninja:

what sports illustrated outtakes?
i was never big on rhonda.. i respect her, but she just got too cocky, while executing horrible game plans - ie, throwing punches. She should have been a non stop armbar specialist, instead she ended up believing her stupid fu*king trainer that she could beat Floyd in a boxing match.
and ya, she couldn't handle losing.
nor can Conor either IMHO.. where'd he go? he hasn't been the same since Nate Diaz.. sure he got his revenge, but he's not the same.
it usually turns into a train wreck when cocky folks w/ big mouths get an L.
It's something I always give Floyd extra credit for. You talk that much sh*t, act that royal, and end up walking away "flawless".. man that's hard. LOL. Fighters always want to crush people with big mouths. It's just human nature tbh.. It's so hard for someone to stay on top, when they just go off the rails with their cockiness/arrogance. That's probably why Floyd pulled it off, he knew how to "act" in such a way to bring the people out to pay $$ at the chance of him losing, but then behind the scenes he trained harder than anyone who ever boxed. HEH.

The kind of outtakes that get “leaked” from her body shoot.
Google is your friend here. Or reddit. That’s probably an easier place to go.

Agree 100%. Her problem was she was the biggest thing in MMA period. First real female fighter to get attention that way and had people in her ear telling her she was a special snowflake. I feel for Gina Carano that she was just too early in the game to get the same recognition. She was better looking, potentially a better fighter and had a better head on her shoulders.
The problem with the UFC at the moment is all they think about is how many buys a PPV is going to get. It’s almost turning into a farce with they way guys think they have to act just to get a fight. Just look at Colby Covington.
I think Conor has no real reason to fight though at the moment. He has more money than he knows what to do with. Has that fitness business going and needs to find a good enough reason to get back in the octagon.
Floyd is super impressive. I never followed his boxing career until recently but to be able to back up that talk and showmanship with the performances is unbelievable. Like you said though he’s putting in the work to back up everything he says.

WOW Khabib lost the plot and sparked a Ron Arrest style all in brawl after defeating McGregor.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o2K_E18E6do

damn that was nuts.
i really like khabib, but man that was so stupid. he really fucked up.
also, seeing conor getting attacked from all angles AFTER a fight, that is so awful.
man this is serious bad blood after that bus incident + all of the shit talk.. i think these guys would have tried to kill each other.
awful.
also: Conor ran into a monster.
-
dana talking about they should just shake hands after etc.. i mean sure but, this is the risk you take when you allow these things to turn into WWE style lead ups to the main event.
eventually he needs to take more responsibility for this.
when conor does crazy shit it's all laughs and excitement.. well, shit got real.
-
if that bus stunt didnt happen, i'd think conor should definitely press charges. that shit is crazy. attacking a fighter whose already been in a fight, 3 diff people.

Security actually did a great job containing everything. That easily could have escalated into a full scale riot if fans started attacking Khabib's entourage etc.
The guy in red that sucker punched Conor from behind is a dog!

i disagree with "great job"... LMFAO. Conor got attacked by 3 people. He could be dead right now.. if one of them had a weapon. :/
crazy shit.
and ya those guys who sucker punched Conor are pathetic.. man, he just got done w/ a fight.. that's crossing a serious line.

I def agree that when connor does shit he's thinking it's all fun and games regardless of the consequence but he didn't realize who he was messing with especially his background.
but really stupid to see why khabib would let someone get under his skin to jump out and attack and khabib's men attacked connor is also stupid.
khabib won and this is where it should have ended.

100%
and i hear people saying stuff that Conor attacked Khabib's religion etc... doesn't justify it one bit. It's kinda insulting, as if it's expected that if you insult Islam, well this is what happens. That's an unfortunate result of what happened. Meanwhile, Khabib had pent up rage like almost anyone who felt they had been disrespected/insulted down to their "core": INCLUDING the bus incident. Would have been great if he would have thought some of that out before the fight, and made sure to prevent himself from snapping. I guess we saw "real hatred" though.. Conor might have just been selling a fight, but in the process, he made Khabib (and his team) truly hate him, and Khabib just snapped, which gave his team/friends the green light to snap.
awful stuff.
This should be all we're talking about:

unfortunate.
and again: fu*k Dana White.

Just looking into the news and came across some footage showing mcgregor attacking one of team khabib's men when he tried to climb over the octagon after khabib but was stopped halfway by security. khabib's team can be seen on top of the octagon and gets hit by conor and then khabib's team comes and hits him.

ya i've been seeing that talked about alot lately.
def a dumb move by conor to swing on that guy.
still no excuse for the other guys to come in and jump him, cops were everywhere, that exchange between him and that dude was over.
but it does give khabib's team a better motive for going in there after conor.

re Dana White saying those two guys on Khabib's team will never fight again in the UFC:
Johnny Rotten
There goes the hypocrite Dana. The 2 guys who jumped in will never fight in the UFC again. Conor attacks a bus injures a UFC employee and 2 UFC fighters messing up a PPV event and he's rewarded with a main event title fight.
^^ preach.

McGregor was going to try and protect his jujitsu coach and he had security holding him back. If Khabib hadn't jumped over the octagon that wouldn't have happened. Khabib's team jumped in the octagon and hit McGregor from behind. Since McGregor wasn't expecting it that could have easily knocked him out and it was actually surprising that the punch appeared to have little impact.
As for those two guys never fight again in the UFC that could change. Initially after the whole bus incident Dana White said it was the most disgusting thing he'd ever seen and wanted nothing to do with Conor. Time heals. The UFC is starting to look like the WWE. I wouldn't be surprised if Dana changes his mind especially if they are talented fighters.

I get mcgregor wanted to protect his jiujitsu coach, but I don't see how that is achieved by attacking one of khabib's team.
Also definitely agree with the comment about the hypocrisy of dana white how he protects conor mcgregor but the bus incident doesn't get much trouble as compared to the incident with khabib.

right but conor also hit someone from khabib's team who was on top of the fence - guy didn't look like he was expecting it at all, that was definitely another escalation. those guys went for him, after that. The guy on the fence was probably going to try and "subdue" Khabib, not fight. Obviously Conor isn't thinking about any of that but, the reality of it is, that guy was no threat to Conor or anyone at that point, and Conor clocked him. Those other 2 dudes definitely were looking to hurt Conor.
Conor should have just stayed in the octagon and watched his "training partner" get his ass beat. I mean this guy (Danis) apparently wants to get his ass beat by Khabib, and since this is WWE now, Dana should give him a title shot.
khabib definitely made the first mistake though.. no justification (in this situation) to jump out of the ring like that.
As for those two guys never fight again in the UFC that could change. Initially after the whole bus incident Dana White said it was the most disgusting thing he'd ever seen and wanted nothing to do with Conor. Time heals. The UFC is starting to look like the WWE. Money heals.. :ninja: Conor is their cash cow. I doubt he was ever truly disgusted either. That incident happened true WWE style, behind the scenes. This one happened in a real event where fans could have been hurt, so definitely a huge difference from that perspective.
These other two guys are "no names" and will feel Dana's mma monopoly wrath.
Anyway, Conor doesn't have alot of options with Khabib.. This guy is going to crush him even worse in a rematch. He deserves another shot at some point but, he better sharpen up against some other guys.. if he doesn't, I really don't think he has the animal left in him, in order to give Khabib a real contest.
The era of Conor = done. Khabib runs shit now.. and I don't see anyone who can challenge this guy, he's a bear.

Why didn't you fire anyone when their team attacked the bus and injured a couple of people? They could have killed someone there, why no one says anything about insulting my homeland, religion, nation, family?
Why do you have to punish my team, when both teams fought. If you say that I started it, then I do not agree, I finished what he had started.
In any case, punish me, @zubairatukhugov has nothing to do with that.
If you think that I’ll keep silent then you are mistaken. You canceled Zubaira’s fight and you want to dismiss him just because he hit Conor. But don’t forget that it was Conor who had hit my another Brother FIRST, just check the video.
if you decide to fire him, you should know that you’ll lose me too. We never give up on our brothers in Russia and I will go to the end for my Brother. If you still decide to fire him, don’t forget to send me my broken contract, otherwise I'll break it myself.
And one more thing, you can keep my money that you are withholding. You are pretty busy with that, I hope it won’t get stuck in your throat. We have defended our honor and this is the most important thing. We intend to go to the end.

In regards to what he said, it's like one of those things that your brain tries to interpret when you don't know what is being said and then it feels like that's what he is saying and same with this one if you feel he is saying let's talk it feel like he is saying lets talk because audio is not clear. maybe he did say let's talk.

it's just crazy, first seeing him in those street fight vids way back, then seeing him rise through the ranks of mma, and now he's baptizing title contenders.
hope he gets a title shot asap.
he trains at ATT, close by. (where i was boxing for a few years). been thinking of checking it out again for some heavy bag cross training. dno yet.
