paginini was a kickass violinist man! props for the vid!

Paginini's "La Campanella", a movement from his 2nd violin concerto.

Franz Liszt's "La Campanella", from his set Grand Etudes de Paginini (an edited piano transcription of Paginini's original work)

Performed here by Yundi Li: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hEnfZjqMSy0

I personally prefer Liszt's piano transcription, as it's a lot more complicated. However, Paginini's original violin version is pretty cool too.

i've heard all the paginini vids on youtube lol, i love that one too, but i never bothered looking up franz liszt's compositions based on paginini's work.. awesome post, i'm going to search more lizst stuff now.. man it's crazy what these people can do musically, creating & playing that kind of music.. my dad kept telling me, yesterday, 'look up franz liszt and his piano versions of paganini's music'.

Same thing I showed you. Except the one I had was on trumpet. Still think it would be way harder on the trumpet, but it actually sounds a lot clearer and smoother on the violin. (it was written for violin, DUH)
