on a related (guitar) note, bill frisell is my god now. as a kind of late beginner/early intermediate guitarist, the dude's playing bewilders me. it seems way farther away than being able to play really fast, complicated jazz guitar lines. which, to be clear, i also very much can't do yet. but his touch is just...like, how is he doing that?

i woke up this morning with this song in my head and it is making me weirdly emotional. no idea where it came from, obviously i've heard the song a million times, it's just one of those songs. but i never felt any kind of way about it, certainly never voluntarily listened to it, and suddenly this morning it's giving me chills. when i went to find it, i discovered that the version i know best is from the "cars" soundtrack. lol. what a great freaking song.
