Changing adarq.org for the better, something you can believe in.

lots of fun stuff planned.

wait until i get lightbox 2.0 image popups implemented, you're going to cream your boxerbriefs.

yea mate much faster.

i'm not a big fan of the lime green, but it's growing on me. I'm uneasy about change, preferring the familiar old look, but this one is much snappier and fresher.

The ESPN ticker was annoying for me because I could see NBA scores... and I watch NBA games off torrents and/or NBA League Pass recorded games so I don't wanna see the score.

When I was browsing adarq.org before and the ESPN ticker was there I had to be really careful not to peek and see the scores.

now it's what i wanted initially.. for anyone who didnt like that ugly light green, that was a mistake.. lol

when you click "reply," the thread as it shows up below the text entry box has no line or other marker between posts. makes it hard to tell without looking closely where one post stops and another starts.

fell asleep while making mods to the site.. just woke up and fixed the 'reply border' that lbss talked about.

added 'lightbox popup' for images and a little img hover border thing so people know you can click them..

ideally i want the lightbox popup to have an 'innerzoom', so whatever picture you click to popup, you can move your mouse around inside of it and it auto zooms in..

im adding that because i want raptor and company to be able to zoom in nicely to whatever they choose when viewing pictures in the 2sexy4u forum

also it would be kind of cool to be able to zoom in so easy to vert/dunk pics, lifting pics etc..

i had it working somewhat last night BUT, i need to approach it differently.. wasn't working too well with lightbox.

Like the zoom thingy on the banner but if you keep an eye on it, the bottom black line border disappears and then appears near the end of the zooming.

Title: WEIGHT CONVERTED - kg to lb or lb to kg
Post by: adarqui on September 28, 2012, 01:24:49 am
next to every post now, on the left, i have two icons.. little black mask things.. click them.

the first one is a weight converter.... for quickly converting lb. to kg. or vice versa.. you can scroll the screen while the popup is pinned to the right.

the 1RM is there as a place holder.. ill get that one done shortly..

is this broken for anyone? works for me on a bunch of browsers.. one person on live chat told me it was giving them some weird 'session verification error'.. but for me/others it's working.

why black masks?because i was trying to format the buttons all nice, but they just looked dumb.. so i got fed up and decided to use little icon pictures...

the left side of each post will eventually havea bunch of tools, and ill put them inside of the 'post form' somewhere, for when we reply/quot/post actual messages..

Definitely liking this feature. When i hovered over the lb to kg the help label appears said coming soon, i thought it was done, so i clicked on it and when the color started to change, oh no ... i  was expecting the screen to change red, animated devil head popping up and saying some weird crazy shit.

lol, always had to google lbs to kg conversion.

added the vert calculator tool icon.. lul.

the 'kg' button doesn't really work.. it just changes the result metric to 'kg' instead of 'lb'.. if anyone wants to look at it, tell me what to change in the formula.. i dont really even want to think about it.

i think the only issue is the 'desired' vert one.. but who knows, maybe they all ratio up.

just enter in bodyweight and then specify one of the 3 fields, it'll print a result.

want to work on that top comment thing instead.

What formula have you used for the lb to kg conversion in the code?
Title: Re: THE FORUM IS DIFFERENT
Post by: Raptor on September 29, 2012, 06:43:30 am
If I enter my bodyweight in kg and put 150 at the full squat number I get 29.59 "cm" haha

What is lacking right now is a "cm" or "inch" thingy. For example at the desired vert it doesn't say if it's cm or inches. For the output thing it says cm but if you enter bodyweight and full squat max it displays the VJ in inches but says "cm" next to it.

i know i  told you i didn't add it.. :F

only kg/lb is needed because, if you enter your stuff in kg, it should automatically use cm's.. imo.

i'll fix the kg/cm thing today.. i didn'twant to mess with it at all last night.

stage 1 of 'dynamically updated content entered..

- if you keep the main page (adarq.org/forum) loaded in your browser.. it should now 'auto update' the 'active users'.. this is the first stage in starting to make the page more dynamic/updated.. i plan to auto-update at least everything on the bottom of the page, ie: recent threads, active users, users in last 24 hours.. the recent threads one is kind of important... this will allow me/us to just leave the browser on the bottom of the page and let it poll for updates (if we want).

1RM CALCULATOR WORKING.

anyone have any requests?

i'm using:

v_res = 1rm = wei-ght/(1.0278-(.0278*reps))

then for the percentages:

$("#custom_calc_1rm_fres").attr('value', v_res);
$("#custom_calc_1rm_fres2").attr('value', v_res*.95);
$("#custom_calc_1rm_fres3").attr('value', v_res*.90);
$("#custom_calc_1rm_fres4").attr('value', v_res*.88);
$("#custom_calc_1rm_fres5").attr('value', v_res*.86);
$("#custom_calc_1rm_fres6").attr('value', v_res*.83);
$("#custom_calc_1rm_fres7").attr('value', v_res*.80);
$("#custom_calc_1rm_fres8").attr('value', v_res*.78);
$("#custom_calc_1rm_fres9").attr('value', v_res*.76);
$("#custom_calc_1rm_fres10").attr('value', v_res*.75);

icons are now in post form too.. so if you want to calc something faster, it's there for you to use.

BUT I DONT GIVE A FUCK I THINK I FIXED THE PRETTY URLS ISSUE.

EDIT: nope i didn't.. somehow that post went through, but it was broken.

i managed to get the urls to resolve when VIEWING threads.......... but not when posting to threads etc..  guess i'll have to finish it tomorrow.

1) viewing worked

You have an eye for detail because honestly I can't see anything wrong with the way urls appear. lol. Maybe it's not a big deal? But i know what you mean when something is bugging you you just wanna get it right even if its a minor thing

also omgs its so pretty now!!!!!!!!! <3

even LBBS wont complain surely :P

well this is the default smf theme, i will surely bechanging it.. however, it's cleaner right off the bat.. so, it's going to look nice once i mod it.

here's an idea of the previous urls we used to have:

http://www.adarq.org/forum/article-video-discussion/joint-by-joint-vert/

now we have these ugly url's that are non-readable... until i fix it..

i've got it like 80% fixed.. need to figure out that last issue that fixes post and im good.. going to take alot of digging though i suspect.

peace man!

cool thanks for the feedback.

ya i see everyone loves this default theme.. well, im def going to tweak the colors a bit and make it look even cleaner.. the old site was from 4 years ago or so when i didn't have webdev skills, so i should be able to make this thing look even classier/cleaner.. i can't settle for a default theme tho that'd be whack..

im not going to deviate too far from this though, everyone will be happy.

This GUI is much more 'smooth' and 'pretty' as expected because it is a default scheme.
I like the previous one more though: Because it was customized , it was a hardcoded adarq.org theme. Seeing that scheme got my mind into training, it was like entering a different dimension opening adarq.org. Now coming in here feels like joining any other forum. Eventualy i will get used to this new GUI that looks better anyway, but i would prefer the old one synchronised/retouched.

Just mho.

right for sure.. i will be customizing.. this is just a major upgrade from SMF 1.x to 2.x.. it was much needed.. once i solve this pretty-urls issue i'll go back to turning it into adarq.org style but with a much cleaner template to begin with.. so ya, totally agree.

the pretty urls issue is #1 problem right now though.. kind of urgent that i get that working again, can't mess with it for another 6 hours or so though.. ;/

^ Yup, i saw that this is an indermediate state , just wanted to post how i see it.
Oh and i agree with your tactic , much better to go back to a clean state and build it from the beginning with a better architecture than trying to patch the old code. It would be full of bugs and unable to be updated next time needed. So im sure you have it in mind already but take your time and build it wise , always have future updates/plugins in mind. Might take a little longer to 'air' the 1st version but it's allways worth the wait. And after a long time when a major update will be implemented easily because of the work you've done you will feel god , been there! Nerd programers rant off, pc

yup.. i was sitting there saying to myself: "im modding smf 1.x heavily, when 2.x is much more recent/modern/stable", so I finally just said f**k it and decided to do the upgrade. I had been planning the upgrade for a long time but I knew it was going to be a bich.. I can re-implement the calculators/fun stuff real fast so that's no problem.. this code base is much cleaner, faster, and simple, so it is definitely worth it.. plus it'll probably be easier to migrate from 2.x to 3.x than it was from 1.x to 2.x... that's a forethought.

tonight I will battle the pretty-urls.. I had it working last night to ~80%.. viewing threads with pretty urls works, it's just posting that seems to be the issue.. when you post, it goes through, but then it somehow gets stuck in an endless loop of translating the origina urls -> pretty urls -> repeat.

hope to get that working tonight so i don't have to worry about it any more.

Mess around with the layout of the forum all you want Adarq, what I meant by how much I liked this (and I'm assuming other people too) is that it's just a much cleaner format than the old version.  No offense, but the old version of the site was "ugly" in my opinion hahha (still the best forum on the internet).  But yeah with a nice clean format and different matching colors and etc.. I'm sure the forum can look MUCH better than this, since this is only a default layout.

hmm wtf.

can you give me an example of a url you're posting, which doesn't work?

i've been posting vids fine, but, it's probably the url im pasting is different than what you are pasting.. maybe you are pasting one of those 'embed' urls..either way, ill probably have to mod it to fix the kind of url you are pasting..

Might have nothing to do with the forum change, it happened in the past too. Could have been the link you copied from youtube, sometimes it appears as http , sometimes as https.
If i remember well htpps won't work , you have to manualy delete the s. That's what i do and then preview before post to be sure.

So i am inside a thread without being logged and i decide to post. If i login using the button in the same window the browser refreshes and goes back to the homepage. It would be very convenient if it stayed at the page i was already.
Current workaround : open logout window in new tab , login , close tab , refresh current tab , ??? , profit.

ya the top banner/header is white.. the body should have lots of light colors though? for the board index/footer etc?

im looking at it on two computers, i see lots of light shades.

anyway this is still temporary.. i want a light/clean layout obviously but, i just had to make some quick temporary modifications because the default theme was driving me insane.

edit: my lcd laptop screen is trash, but i can still see the shades.. although they are much fainter than my work computer which is non-lcd.. on the non-lcd work computer, it's definitely not a problem seeing the shades.. will have to play with it later.

i'm thinking of putting a fixed touch scroller to the left of the forum.... for this reason: insanely fast navigation of the forum:

instead of having to scroll up/down the actual page, we could use the left touch scroller.. it would contain:
- subforums when on the main board index
- a list of threads when in any of the subforum board indexes
- a list of threads when in any thread

so say you are inside someone's journal.. well instead of clicking back, or a link in the link tree, you could literally just click the other journal you're interested in reading in the left touch scroller...... they would all be in there.. so you could say, navigate 10 journals with only 10 clicks, as opposed to our current system which navigates 10 journals with at minimum 20 clicks..

here's an example touch scroll demo:

http://cubiq.org/dropbox/iscroll4/examples/simple/

so picture that real thin on the left, with threads in it,and each one is clickable.. scrolling up/down a threadwouldnt effect it.

FU*K MY SPACEBAR KEY.

also, i can have a setting in each user's profile to disable it/enable it etc.

trying to think up ways to make the way we use this forum, insanely fast/efficient/fun.

ya man im not very into lots of colors on a site, or women (not colors of skin, but colors of makeup lmao).. i dont like too many harsh colors, i want a more 'bright/vibrant/natural' looking experience.

the way the default template looked to me was like, some white chick with really harsh purple makeup on.. eek

cool! ya i think it will be absolutely perfect once it's setup... by improving the way we are able to navigate this site, it'll improve the learning/teaching/analysis experience, plus improve time efficiency.

eventually i'm going to program some journal template popup thing, which will allow everyone to log their journals into the popup, which will embed into the journal post, which also means it will save data for that date, so we can generate graphs/see progress history etc..

not sure how people are going to take to the left sidebar.... im on the fence about it.. one part of me loves it, the other part of me is against such a 'radical addition/change'.. so im not sure.. so far im only putting boards in it.. not sure if im going to put recent posts etc........ maybe i can have some buttons at the top or something to customize it..

i do like how when ur nav'n the forum, if anyone posts something, it will show up 'green' at the top..

i've been navigating alot quicker with it.. and the recent posts in subforum feature of it is pretty good..

dno..

btw it's a "click and drag" scroll thing.. ie 'touch scroll'.. the left most icon is the button which takes you to the destination.. the middle is just text etc.. if the middle was clickable we wouldnt be able to click and drag.

anyway.. im also thinking about putting 'recent posts' and 'active users' on the top of the forum.. id rather it be at the top than the bottom.. makes more sense too.

i need to develop new banners.. they arent going to go with the site once i actually get it looking the way i want.. this time i'll overlay text on the banners instead of hard-edit it into the image.. that way i'll have more flexibility with how the fonts/etc look/transition etc.

I can see the scroll bars, menu at the side but like i am also on the fence about it. There's something about it, i.e. the menu is too short people can't read it.

How about, i have an idea, i don't know whether it will work or not.

Can you make the menu width larger to see the whole writing, bare with me, but also have a arrow looking button which can open and close the menu so it don't get in the way and, yes i have more, make those different menus be expandable e.g. click on the arrow next to Boxing, this would create a small list underneath with new posts made on that forum or can just click on the name to direct to that subject.
keep the color for new posts made.

what do you think?
the one thing that i can't seem to like it is the size of the menu width, can't read.
that scroll bar at the side of the options menu tricks me into clicking and dragging that down which causes the menu to move up lol.

its taking shape

ya i need it to be narrow initially.. otherwise it would just take up too much space. like you mentioned, i've been thinking about allowing it to be expanded etc..

i'm pretty sure eventually it'll have some buttons on top to control it & also a setting in each user's profile to completely hide it if you so choose.

that scroll bar at the side of the options menu tricks me into clicking and dragging that down which causes the menu to move up lol.

its taking shape

peace

thanks for the ideas man..

ya i like the idea of allowing you to get unread posts etc from that left scrollbar...

here's what i'm thinking..

when a board has new unread posts, you can click on the arrow (or another one), and a popup will show up on the screen.. this popup would be all pretty, kind of like the calculator ones.. fixed to the upper right... it will contain a simple list of the unread posts, clickable as links... so you can even keep that popup on screen while checking out new posts that were listed in the popup.

i dont want to put the list of new threads etc WITHIN the navbar, it just wont ever been wide enough to handle that.. but i def need that functionality, just seems a clean popup is the way to go, imo.

currently, if you hover over the 'subforum categories' in the left navbar, itll show the full title.. being able to fully expand it temporarily might be a good idea.

found something to help me create color schemes for the site...

http://www.adarq.org/forum/lets-nerd-the-f-out/httpcolrd-comimage-dna-coird-image-dna-sick/msg77850/#msg77850

i mean right now i've just been winging it.. but very soon i'm going to try and create my first layout..

check that link out, it has a cool website which has color palette's/schemes for various pictures that were submitted.

scrollbar still not working, or, rather, it goes up and down but so does the rest of the page. it's not dissociated, is what i'm saying.

also, that light blue...

i like it on principle, though.

that scroll bar on the left is 'different', you have to 'click and drag' etc.. you try that? if you hover over it with your mouse and use the wheel it'll do both scrollbars etc.. it's a "touch scroll" thing... try a real quick click + move mouse up or down.. the scroll bar should fly & move real smooth.. maybe eventually ill just turn it into a normal scroll bar if people have issues.

ok cool least it worked.. ya maybe ill just put a regular scrollbar and get rid of iscroll.. just need to do custom scrollbars because i hate the default ones.. never did that, dont even know if it's 100% possible.

The drag menu thing would have been cool on a touch screen, i guess.

what if we got rid of the menu as a whole and keep the forum style navigation you had in the old forum ..  :ninja: ... maybe.

how about a drop down menu like in windows explorer, file, but it says menu, click on it, a list of all the topics and then you hover mouse over one topic i.e. progress and journals which has an arrow next to it and that will display another menu to the right with the list of all the threads in order of most new to most old like in the forum and click on that to direct to it. we want an internet style look to it and not a windows explorer look to it.
if you get what i mean.

i will try and create an example if possible.

edit: i found something a bit like what i was talking about, looks nice but you can adjust to suit this site.  :headbang:

http://www.webdesigndev.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/fancydropdown.html

but in those options you can expand to sub-options and have whatever colour you like for new and old posts)

hello.

great idea.

thanks.

:F

ya that sounds alot better than the touch scroller I have.. good stuff.. then the forum width will go back to normal (so to not compensate for the scroller)..

love it.

i can picture it, hover, menu displays with forums, then hover specific forums to see latest/unread posts.. sounds diesel as f*k.

shit.

the only advantage that the scrollbar has on the side, is that as i'm navigating i can see which boards have new unread posts without me having to go out of my way to 'hover a menu'.. hmm.

how to compensate for that? i mean I could just change the color of the dropdown menu tab when there's new posts, which would alert you of new posts.. as soon as you hover it, you'd get the big menu etc..

peace man

That's not really a problem, when i said hover over the menu and it should drop down, the menu at the sides are the different forums that will be on the menu, then you can have those different menu's with different colours to indicate new post, then you would go to the sub topics, which will also have colours to indicate, which topic has new posts in them and which don't.

Example

if progress journals has new posts in them it would be as follows.

                ADARQ   \/  - Arrow

 | Adarq.org Special Content >|
 | Performance Training Blog > |
 | Adarq & LanceSTS - Q&A   > |
 | Progress Journals & Expe > | a fast and explosive donkey |
 | ....
 | and other options

and clicking on the threads could create a pop up box like you did with the conversion tools, which displays the latest unread posts, in order and also an option to go to that thread.

Also i can see the list is long, you could make the Options be the options you have used in the forum i.e. Introduction Area, Blog Section, Members Area

and then a sub option would like in Members area would be journals, call em out, quitters, etc.

and then a sub sub option would be the threads in that sub sub option in order of new to old, with colors indicating if you it is new and wether you have read it or not as when you log in and accidentally log out the new posts are gone only the ones you have posted in.

ADARQ.org v2.0    \/ - blue is just an example anything,
|
| Introduction Area  >|
| Blog Section          >|
| Members Area      > | | Adarq.org Special Content >|
| Performance Area  >| | Performance Training Blog > |
| ...                             | | Adarq & LanceSTS - Q&A   > |
                                  |  | Progress Journals & Expe > | a fast and explosive donkey |
                                     | ...
so what do you think

nice pseudo-design!@... ya i was starting to not like the idea of getting rid of the left nav column.. so i think the way you propose is best.. we'll have the nav on the left, with easy expansion like you mentioned.

i really love refreshing and seeing boards highlighted as new posts & being able to click through real fast.. with your idea of expanding menus, it's going to be really sick.

Yeah I agree the side bar is somewhat annoying, especially as the whole forum name doesn't get into it and you see "...", but then again you can't afford to lose screen real-estate viewing the entire name so...

But it's also useful, I takes away from having to watch around and see what forum has new messages into it.

right that's why i have the ellipses '...' i'd rather it be pretty small.

i changed the color on it so to make it a little less eye catching, except for the highlighted tabs.

yup, i've come to find it very useful.. for example, i just woke up, there was 7 active tabs, just clicked through each one looking at the new threads.. very fast nav.. i need to add those mods to it that siefullaah proposed.

So like Flander I find the scrollbar breaks on my tablet (Android) and I can't scroll or view any of the forum. Doh. It works fine on my android phone though, cos i'm presuming that retrieves the mobile site but my tab retrieves the desktop one? Dunno.

I love the new top bar, the colours and look is perfect.

I just have a tiny complaint about the upvote/downvote counter, it's just a number atm, but before it was more prominent and felt more whole, because it integrated with the up and down arrows. The three things (up, down and counter) should go together imho.

it doesnt show up/down voting icons if it's YOUR post.. for every other post, it should show: number up down

if it's not showing up/down arrows then it's something i have to fix.. but it won't let you upvote your own posts anymore hehe.

Yeah, i mean it doesn't seem 'together' lol

(http://www.adarq.org/forum/Themes/default/images/gpbp_arrow_down_lit.gif) +10 (http://www.adarq.org/forum/Themes/default/images/gpbp_arrow_up_lit.gif)

this visually bundles them together into one 'widget'

And when looking at my own posts it's just one single number, no context around it like above. The same thing happens for EVERY post when not logged in, which I don't like.

TLDR: Whether you are looking at your own posts, someone elses, whether you are logged in or not, it should show the same thing always:

(http://www.adarq.org/forum/Themes/default/images/gpbp_arrow_down_lit.gif) +10 (http://www.adarq.org/forum/Themes/default/images/gpbp_arrow_up_lit.gif)

And yea you can't upvote your own posts, so maybe the colours of the arrows should stay grey in that case. If not logged in they should be grey too. They get coloured when you're logged in and looking at someone elses posts, which is what happens already.

appreciate that.. well, they are 'gray' to indicate that we havn't voted for that post.. once we vote, it changes it permanently to green (up) or red (down).. so, having them colored by default might be a little confusing.. ill change it up right now though for the other stuff.

Grey when you haven't voted makes sense. But it makes sense if you're not logged in either (because you haven't  yet or cannot vote). And it makes sense when looking at your own posts too (because you haven't and cannot vote for them).

So basically the only change i'm suggesting is showing the grey arrows around the counter -
a) when not logged in
b) when logged in but looking at your own posts

It just gives a visual indication of what the number means. And for consistency I think it should be the same appearance whether you're logged in or not, or whether its your own post or not.

the following cases are already fine, no change needed:
c) grey arrows when logged in when you haven't voted a post yet

Thanks again :)

the goal is to group all 'buttons' into menu bars etc.. so to really tighten/clean everything up.. i'll easier-on-the-eye variations for the other menu bars such as the post/reply/modify etc..

bout to get it done before i sleep :F

i'd like to also find a quick jQuery dialog library, so if people click it and they aren't logged in, a real nice popup comes up saying 'please login to use this feature'

i did that with some mobile website i developed recently.. worked nice.. but i used built in jquery mobile dialog's.. pretty sure it's just a normal jquery lib though, that's included already.

word, should look better now.. maybe eventually ill put it in it's own little box.. just a quick fix based on your recommendations tho, it's decent for now i imagine.

instead of a nice popup i just used alert()... hehhhehoehfoeh

i might try to do one more thing before i sleep, move /forum into /, and just create a rewrite for /forum to make sure our old links work.
Title: Re: THE FORUM IS DIFFERENT
Post by: adarqui on October 12, 2012, 04:14:03 am
ok, so now on, everything will be created without /forum... so, adarq.org/forum is now adarq.org

adarq.org/forum/xxx/yyy/zzzz is now adarq.org/xxx/yyy/zzz

however, the old /forum links will still work, so we don't have to worry about having our posts becoming unreachable etc.

seems to be working good, i had to mod a ton of settings in SQL db + modify mod_rewrite rules, aside from just moving stuff over.

i'd be willing to bet everything is working good... but if someone experiences an error due to the new merge into /, reply here!

peace im out GN ;f

Is it just me are hyperlinks hard to differentiate in the current setup. They look almost indistinguishable from normal text.

Requesting rage-comic emoticons.
Trollface and FUUUUUUU are must-have, all others welcomed. Animated would be interesting , but im perfectly fine with stills.

:motherofgod: , awesome!!!

Yeah , transparent would be perfect but especially in the case of rage comincs you are used to see the white panel so it does not look weird.
Overkill? I don't know , i am a big fan of ragecomics so too much is not enough for me...
Splendid job , kind sir!  :lololol:

Hi

If you are finding it difficult to make them transparent, maybe not. But here is a suggestion to help quicken the procedure.

Download GIFworks

Quote
1. Click on File then select File Open...

2. The next screen will offer 2 methods to upload your image.
Method #1 allows to upload the URL of you're image you are hosting with an image host like Photobucket or Image Shack.
Method #2 offers you to upload an image from your computer (this is the option I use)

3. You've uploaded your graphic from your computer and you will see you image, you will clearly see the white background I've used arrows to pinpoint the background for you.

4. Goto Edit from the File Menu and select Add Transparency
http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g177/wiz-bits/tripod3.gif

Another window should appear with your image, if it doesn't then a pop-up blocker may be working to stop the window from showing, allow pop-ups from the tripod or temperary allow pop-ups from the site. Once the window has loaded it will look like this...

You will see a hand icon pointer when you move the mouse, click on a white bit of area. You're window will then close and you will see the main window again with your image 'without' the white background now.

Right-Click on the image and select Save Picture As...

Source:http://bwizardsworkshop.runboard.com/t316

That should get rid of the white background i hope.

peace

Regarding the 1 rep max calculator, can you clarify something?

I'm trying to get to 315lb 1rep max.  When I type in 315 for 1 rep, it says the 5 rep max is 271lbs.  When I type in 271lbs for 5 reps, it says 1 rep max is 305lbs.

I know 1 rep max calculator's are not accurate for everyone, but still I'm just trying to get an estimate.

too lazy to read whether this has been asked in this thread already, but links are hard impossible to see. could you differentiate them somehow? i guess you abandoned underlining for aesthetic reasons but maybe there's another way. bolding?

Yo, this isn't strictly forum-design related, but I reckon the journals section needs a graveyard clean-out. Some of them are more than a year and a half since last post! It's just depressing seeing them sit there and gather dust.

It would also be nice if the left bar would have the NAMES clickable, not just the arrows in the circles.

ya i tried that.. the problem with that tho is, u cant scroll it then.. but maybe people dont scroll it anyway.. ill make it clickable.

i don't scroll it, i just use it to see which topics are new and then i click those.

thanks man but, the only problem with that is, it's not actually an iphone.. it uses css/etc to mimic the iphone's look/screen size etc.. but, something is going on in the actual iphone browser it seems, because, for that one mask to show up huge doesn't make much sense to me.. all of those little icons have the same css/etc.

weird.

flander, i modded the code to remove the side scrollbar if someone is viewing from a mobile device..... it should work properly now.

please tell me if it is/isn't!@#!@

this is a temporary modification until i figure it out.. im simulating user-agent's with chrome to test if the scrollbar appears or not in 'mini/mobile browsers', it's disappearing for those browsers so, seems to be working.

thanks alot man.. pc

Ha never got to this. Works like a charm man.

Yeah, and if you scroll the side bar you will "click" on whatever it is under the scroll bar (if you click and drag). Back a few days ago that wasn't the case (this sucks).

if you click and drag on the menu to scroll, and the cursor is hovering over text or an arrow when you click to drag instead of empty space, when you release it loads the subforum you clicked on rather than just releasing. means you have to be careful where you hover the cursor when you click to drag. nbd but kind of annoying.
