My goal is to reach 40 in SVJ and 44in RVJ, this will give me a lock at athleticism and a good training position for BBALL program to train elite players that are a bit raw and clueless but talented.

Should I take creatine or not?

I do have some health issues like obesity and very close to getting diabetes. I also had high liver enzymes that is slowly getting better.
33yrs | 24in SVJ | >45% BF | 227LB | 5'9 | 7'5 reach | 400lb max squat paused | 5'8 wingspan | 26in RVJ

Coming back from 2 years of inactivity!

Goal: Maintain 385-405lb squat while cutting down to 165 LB

get everything else in check first.. get fairly shredded, stronger, better physical condition, then re-evaluate. Also by that time, "diabetes" probably won't be much of an issue anymore.

sometimes you just have to think about it (and similar things) like a "cheat code".. imagine creatine is a cheat code.. do you use the cheat code on the first level? or do you wait until you actually need it? if you do the latter, you'll acquire more skills & understand your body at an entirely different level .. you won't even need to ask the question about creatine, you'll basically just know. I mean, I don't think most legal supplements are that effective for people who aren't experienced/don't know what they are doing. I can get just as strong without protein powder -> my diet is balanced/adequate. etc.. I don't need some crazy pre-workout amp fuel, but if I do need a pickmeup, caffeine in the form of coffee will do just fine. I'm mostly anti-supps though -> anti in the sense that I don't really feel we need them. Creatine has shown to be pretty effective, but why use it right now when you can make considerable gains/improvements without it? Instead, wait 6-12 months when you're dropped BF% way down and are considerably stronger, then maybe take it to experiment.

also, as far as coaching goes.. you don't want to be one of those coaches/instructors whose first instinct is to get a client on a bunch of supps. Making proper improvement yourself & then understanding better the effects of things like creatine etc, will give you much more insight when it comes to prescribing it.

my 2cents.

if you do use creatine, a tablespoon full of creapure to your mouth then gargle some fruit juice to push it down.  the sand does not dissolve. might as well get it over quickly.

I think i'm going to start taking it again.... it's so cheap and fits my goal of gaining explosiveness via fast twitch muscle fibers....

I have old bucket full from 5 years ago but prob not going to use it and expired already.

I have made some dramatic efforts in cleaning up diet.

Before: stop by diner order some gyros or burgers, ribs etc or call pizza/fried chicken delivery. Also ate pastas. When things were not going well, there were times I would binge eat on chocolate, ice cream, doritos.... was pretty bad.....

Now: Steamed green veggies or raw: spinach, broccoli, colard greens, etc..... buying chicken breast, getting my fats from avacodoes and omega 3, salmons and beans, and using fruit and skim milk as deserts.
