Adarq,

I have testing (vert, 40, bench etc...) at 745 tomorrow morning.

When would you suggest waking up?

taking caffeine?

How much and in what form?

I hate coffee so thats not an option.

well immediately if you're testing is that early.. so whenever you wake up, down it immediately.

generally you want it around 1 hour before.

if you're not used to it, 150-200mg will do the trick.

the only form i take it with is in some kind of coffee drink, bolthouse mocha coffee drink or starbucks coffee/expresso shots are good.

kill it tomorrow man!

Excessive intake is always harmful..As per doctors advice, taking it in the morning is good for health.

If you're not used to it then it might make you too agitated and make you fatigue easily, so keep that in mind.

ive been taking 4 tspn of instant coffee with my morning protein drink lately, definitely improves my focus/"twitchyness".. i hadn't been doing caffeine for like 1 month or so, and when i got back on, first time back on it hit me hard, felt real shitty.. but second session i was back to handling it well.

definitely aids in my focus throughout a session, i do get more tired following a session though when im on caffeine than when i'm not on.

Hey I don't know if you guys have tried this, but today i just set a 1.5 inch PR on SLRVJ with caffeine on an empty stomach.  No protein, just caffeine (and tyrosine).  I usually go with 200mg tablets, but i went on an empty stomach, so i cut my caffeine tablet in half.  I just have to say DAMN.  Definitely don't need as much caffeine on an empty stomach.  Feel Great  :headbang: caffeine is still in the system lol.

WTF!  So the caffeine really hit you a lot harder cuz u had an empty stomach?  Man seems tempting, but without food, I'm always really drained.  Maybe I'll try one day.

awesome dude.. i mostly use it on empty stomach too.. i think the combo of being hungry AND amp'd is a great one.. that's why i'm for eating big the NIGHT BEFORE, so that glycogen stores are filled, yet eating very light day of (prior to dunking).. for example, here's how i did my thing today/last night:

last night: ate a ton, 7 bananas and all that stuff
today: wokeup, bunch of huge shits, protein/water-drink+2teaspoons of coffee + 12oz gatorade drink (packed with a scoop of gatorade)..... then a starbucks double espresso shot right before i went to the gym.. was very jittery/getting up real easy, felt great... oh and protein/gatorade-drink during the dunking.

starbucks double espresso shots are nice, first time having one of those, liked it.. was looking for a redline but they didnt have it so i just went with that, i think next time ill have two double-shots :F

This thread died 3 months ago, but whatever.  So today I bought some caffeine pills and experimented with them today, because I have important jump session tomorrow.  Prior to today, I remember that whenever I drank coffee, I never really felt it affecting me much.  No 'twitchiness' no obviously increased alertness or whatever.  Today I ate lunch at 1:00pm and took 200mg caffeine (4 pills, each pill is onlt 50mg, even though the box says no more than 2 at a time) at 3:20, and went to ball at 4.  I didn't feel any extra "pop"

^^^Do you think this indicates I am not sensitive to caffeine at all?

I wanna try this.  I'm going to eat big tonight.  What should I do tomorrow?  Gonna go ball/jump at 4.  Wake up around 10-11, eat 1 small meal and then nothing else til 4 and take 200mg caffeine?  Would 300mg be unsafe on an empty stomach?  I wanna jump with that extra juice caffeine can give you, cuz I won't have any competitive pick up games or anything to get me primed.
