I'm not in the mood to read it but I think I know what it's about.

Interesting read. Mental health issues are no joke.

I don't get the "need" for what he wrote. Meaning, why would you "apologize"?

because he was a deeply shitty person to a lot of people over the years, a superficially shitty person to a lot more people, and because he did something completely insane and weird last fall that threw a lot of people for a loop.

what did he do last fall?

basically he announced in a crazy internet-training-guru-style advertising page that, while most people had known him as an expert on nutrition and training, he'd been living a double life as a gonzo pornographer and was going to release a tell-all book (and maybe videos? or something?) about his experiences. he's obviously since taken it down, but it was pretty obvious even at the time and even from the remove that i have from him -- i've been a member of his "secret" forum for years but never a major poster and i've only had a little personal contact with him -- that something wasn't right. the grandiosity, the verboseness made it seem like a manic or at least hypomanic episode. and i'd suspected for years that he was at least depressive. bipolar makes perfect sense.
