Krastev was the best superheavy ever in snatch (216kg):

Chigishev is pretty fantastic though.

Yeah. Very wide. Most guys with good snatches take an at least above average width grip though. Check out how wide Andrei Rkybakou is for someone 5'8:

Having said that mine isn't all that much narrower lol.

Nice.

Why isnt that 216 still a world record?

They erased the world records when they changed the weight classes and tweaked the rules slightly. Once some time between 1994 and 1996 and again some time between 1996 and 2000. I think it was a bit stupid, but no one was really getting close to the clean and jerk world records because of stricter drug testing. Varbanov did 215.5kg clean and jerk at 75kg, Dimas never managed better than 215kg weighing 85kg. Snatch has stayed much the same though due to improvements in technique.

Yeah Dimas was freakily strong. 280 front squat and 330 back squat rumored. Probably likely too since he had whack technique for a gold medalist and power jerked.

Obviously not bad but not as refined as most world number 1s. He had some weird things with his pull like using a little bit of early arm pull and shrugging before the second pull and then he power jerked which most people consider less efficient than a split of squat jerk. He looked down before whipping his head back in the snatch too.
