I havent bought a pair of b-ball shoes in a while. Im going to give them a try. Was looking around but dont feel like spending 100$+. The only thing that scares me is they look to thin for heel to land. Could I use these for indoor b-ball games?

ya you'd have to get used to them for a while before being able to ball in them, who knows you might feel great in them right off the bat and be able to ball but i wouldn't do that right away.. i've played full court, 21's, etc in them and moved really good/felt great, but i'm very used to these shoes..

peace man

some new pairs of NZWR's have some "slippery" substance on the rubber, like to make it shinnier, just scrape em up a bit or walk around in em for a few days, gets rid of it.. lots of shoes have that though.

FYI, store.nike.com has a special promo additional 25% OFF until only JAN 2ND, 2011.   So you can get the Zoom Waffle VIII for 32.98 right now.  My favorite Nike Air Generate is only 29.98 with the discount.  I'm also gonna pickup T-Lite VIII for 23.23 and Air Monarch III for 37.48.  over $100=free shipping too.  123.67 for 4 shoes or 30.91 average.  not bad and should last me for a while.  :)  the only draw back is there is no color selection but who cares function over form!!
current stats: age: 42 :: 5'11" (180cm) :: 180lbs (82kg) bf ~30% :: reach: 90" or 7'6" (230cm) :: wing span: 6" (183cm)
12 week goal(current): SQ 115kg(100), DL 130kg(110), BP 80kg(70), reduce weight to 75kg (165 lbs) and bf to ~25%
status: excellent cardio condition, new 5x5 program, 10' rim touch okay, RVJ ~30"
PR RVJ ~34" 10'5" touch @ age ~25 (worst was ~6" below rim when i was @ 190 lbs ~35% body fat ~23" RVJ in 2007-8

Just got the  Zoom Waffle XC VII, they're amazing! Really considering to use them as bball shoes as they should be great for my knees, problem is that I got them a little to big which makes me slide around when balling.
Does any body know where I could get a size 12?

awesome, glad you love em`.. if you had them a half size smaller, sounds like they would be perfect.

just be careful using them with basketball so soon, they do feel good but landings are more intense in them because of how little cushion they have.. just progress slowly in them, start off with basketball practice in them if you want, don't go right to games though.. i love playing in them, but i'm really adapted to using them so it's not an issue for me anymore.. for someone who just recently got them, it could definitely be more stressful, so just make sure you progress your usage of them, don't jump in head first.

dno i got 12's on eastbay.com

peace man!

considering getting these now that my old shoes are dying....just wondering, though, are these shoes sturdy/long-lasting? I mean, can you walk around everywhere with them+ play ball+ have them last minimum 1 year?

Yeah even tough they pretty much removed pain completly from my knee they also got pretty sore after practice if that makes any sense.
Sadly eastbay doesn't have them in 12 no more

http://smokingsection.uproxx.com/TSS/2011/05/derrick-rose-x-adizero-crazy-light-whats-in-a-number so i just read that article and it claims that these new addidas shoes are great for basketball and blah blah blah. I remember reading this discussion and it got me thinking. how much do the waffle racers weigh? and would light basketball shoes protect the ankle more? and just if anyone here has tried both and can say which they prefer and why?

PS This is my first post so please respond

waffle racers weigh around 0.6oz per shoe..

yup they would, such as kobe's etc.. low top bball shoes would still offer more protection than waffle racers, but i personally only train in waffle racers.. thats the only shoe i feel like wearing, they feel great, but they take a while getting used to especially for basketball.. i wouldnt RECOMMEND them for basketball, even though i'd play in them.. my ankles have adapted to them, much stronger now.

no comparison between waffle racers & bball shoes in terms of "lightness + ankle mobiility + activating the gastrocs even more".. but shoes like kobe's are safer than waffle racers..

get used to low/mid top shoes if anything.. high tops are evil imo.
