Awesome.  They are good people as well.  Had a tendo go bad a few years back and sent it to them to fix.  They couldnt so Bert just sent us a new one even though the old one wasnt under any type of warranty.  Tendos arent cheap.  His dad (in the vid) has some insane grip strength as well, I think they still have some vids on youtube of him doing various holds, pinch grips, etc.
Relax.

ya, that's how I originally came to know of Richard Sorin & sorinex. Believe it or not, I was actually into grip strength stuff way back before vert, CoC grippers/plate pinches/nail bending lol.. I sucked but I tried it..

Sorin is a real beast, his 521 x 3 is really motivating, regardless of being 60.. being 60 just puts it on a whole nother` level.

I have a poor man's glute ham from sorinex, love it.. :D they make great quality equipment.. If I was ever starting a facility & had the dough, I'd definitely go with them.

peace man

Well first off, that was really cool. Secondly, "Sorin" is a Romanian name :D

And thirdly, I do pretty much the same thing before a heavy squat or deadlift. I usually psyche out, I feel the body temperature increase, anxiety, electric current through the body, a rush of power and tension occuring, and then I just go and do my thing. It's great but it's very consuming on the CNS.

hah thats tight, I wouldnt have figured you for one of the grip crazy types .  What number coc could you close?  I have a g-rex grip machine from them that we used for our pl days for deadlift.  Check out their base camp ramp and all the stuff you can add to it.  its like having a whole damn facility in one rack.

Do you have a video of you doing a heavy squat or deadlift? Its hard to imagine you doing a heavy squat or deadlift for some reason(well that reason being you look "frail" for a heavy squat or deadlift :)

ps. see my journal on tvs to understand this
Relax.

ya.. I try not to even get close to that level of psyching up anymore, it seriously can drain you for a damn week or so, so ya it can be really intense & takes a long time to recover from.

Haha I don't need to see the journal... I know exactly what you mean. It doesn't help with me jumping 50 inches every single time... it's so hard to imagine me squatting that much when I'm the kind of high jumper that beats Sotomayor.

Two skeletons are grabbing themselves by the fat... or something...? Huh? Nevermind :D

PS. Damn, I'm starting to develop the Jay Schroeder disease.

Well I think we're actually both right. You can't really imagine me squatting or deadlifting heavy by the way I look just as much as you can hardly imagine a "big" guy (even muscular with a low bodyfat) as going up off one leg. You'd expect him to be better off two (that's not always the case though, but there are much more chances a big guy gets up better off two feet than off one).

Nah I know what you meant I was just giving you a hard time about it.  Ive seen some some scrawny looking little dudes put up some crazy weights for their size though, especially on more cns/leverage driven lifts like deadlifts.  The thing about the single leg jump is it has to be practiced and most heavier muscled builds got that way by lifting, some of which was likely squatting or other similar movement, and will jump better and more often off two legs.  I dont subscribe to the theory that the single leg jump is totally dependent on lighter bw, tendons, etc. as Ive seen otherwise too many times first hand.  Naturally gifted jumpers will jump well both ways alot of the time, but an athlete that has had to train his vertical usually improves more in the double leg simply because the movements he chooses and the musculature they prioritize is specific to the bi lateral jump.  The same can be done with the single leg jump, just a much different set of exercises and different emphasis on what muscle groups are the priority has to be taken into account.  Naturally gifted jumpers usually have a pretty even blend of strength throughout hence the reason they can typically do either.
Relax.
