jumping with 1 steps for 2 month. Which is about 6 jump sessions completed . Getting consistent in 1 step approach.

Decided to add one more step and seems like is all messed up.
The exaggerated arm swing in the added step seems to messed up the jump.

Things felt different... I feel I am able to go in faster but when it all come together. I am just not going up higher.

I try to jump freely and the end and... That same (not going up ) feeling appear.

Any suggestion are much appreciated.

You've had 6 dedicated jump sessions in 8 weeks?  Dude, you HAVE to jump more often! You don't train movement efficiency every other week my man! I may not have dedicated jump only sessions but I jump while hooping 2-3x per week!

2 month 8 weeks,

Typical week includes 4 days training
1 plyo day
1 Explosive lift day
1 Jump specific day
1 Raw Strength day (optional)

Out of the pass 8 weeks... I had skipped 2 Jump specific day (so total 6 sessions only).  But i never skipped the others days.

Coach Jack Wood... was saying to me.. I should never skip Jump Spec. day...I can Skip any other day but never the Jump specific..

i knew better now.

Further more.
here is my.. 2nd attempt adding 1 more step in T0dday method.
For the first time, I start throwing the ball to myself. After a few failed attempt. I am getting better timing... of cause it is no where near a dunk, but at least it feel more right and similar to a self pass layup sort of thing.

At least. things are moving fwd.

I am not sure if the foot planting is consider... efficient..may be someone can commend on this a little for me.

How many ME jumps do you usually get in on jump day?

a running jump is the translation of horizontal speed to vertical speed, crudely speaking. the faster you can go horizontally while still converting a large portion of that speed to your vertical jump, the better. adding steps is a way to learn how to go faster toward the hoop while still under control. your first step is always going to be slow, and each subsequent step should accelerate you toward the hoop. in your practice run-ups there (off of what i would call three steps, not two) you're just bouncing toward the hoop in a kind of curvy run, not adding speed with each step. i will take vid sometime soon to show you what i mean.

in the meantime here's a t0ddday progression i did about a year ago. it's bad - i was not jumping well - but you can still see how each time i take an extra step out, i'm using the extra distance to go faster into the plant.

Just some news plan from Coach Jack.
I will try to do 4 jump session per week now.
he said this is a over kill, but is worth trying to see what will happen with such a Shock to my system...
