Dumbell BSS FTW!

Man I loved those...These videos remind me of the old good times...you know, when I actually had two knees LOL!

I commented about how "close" your stance looked to me the first time I saw you doing barbell bss, but if you're more comfortable that way I guess it's fine ;)

Haha, yeah I remember those BSS and deadlift videos. If you talk stuff too much, you might force me to use the heaviest dumbbells available in my gym, which are 50 kg.

Yeah my explosiveness just exponentially lowers with weight added. For example, with an empty bar I get so high... yet with 30 kg I don't get high at all. Same with snatches. With an empty bar I do them explosive enough. Give me 30 kg and it's all shoulders, non explosive etc. It's annoying and I can't find a logical reason for that.

Try wave loading every now and then and see what happens, on the upper end of the wave loaded sets you dont even need to give a maximal effort and 1 rep is enough alot of time.  Sometimes its just inhibitions that can be overcome, then when you get to the lighter sets you notice a big difference. Def didnt look bad though.

One thing that you will find as you become more explosive is you will naturally want a higher 1, dont force this but the better jumpers always naturally want a bigger preload when aiming for the highest possible 2.  One thing ive found helpful is to imagine youre jumping on a trampoline, aiming for max height on the 2.  Almost always get better output when I cue that.
Relax.

Yeah I think maybe I should "depth drop" a bit forward. When I jump straight up I usually end up bending a lot at the knee and loading the quads a lot and very little hip. If I'd have just a SMALL displacement forward at the first jump then maybe I'd load more hip and jump higher, while also straining my knees less.
