really annoyed how its become so "okay" to be fat, too. my gf is gaining weight and i'm about to tell her straight up you're on your way to becoming fat if you don't stop. it's been like 6 months now that you've been saying you'll lose weight. da hell you gonna be all skinny and sexy when you were single, but not look your best for your man?!

 :raging:

and here you are, increasing your vert/squat for her. you need to show her your squat/dunk videos & tell her to go run.

celebrating "fatness" is dangerous for several obvious reasons (health, food security, animal cruelty).. this new "fat acceptance" campaign reminds me of the "everyone is a winner" campaign where every kid gets a trophy, there's no winners/losers, etc. Well, that turned out to be pretty dangerous to child development (<insert references>).

how gluttonous overconsumption has become acceptable, is beyond me. I wouldn't be surprised to see in ~10-20 years, where some large conspiracy is uncovered implicating the food industry, on the level of big tobacco in the 90's. lmao.

It feels good to get away from the "societal dietary norms" in the US. I'm almost done kicking my ice cream addiction, which is like the last piece to the puzzle of cleaning up my diet. For the most part I eat pretty good now, and extremely light. I feel waaaay better with my current diet.

Also, US males are often skinny-shamed to gain weight. I've been on the receiving end of that one, growing up. I imagine that turns alot of healthy skinny people into overweight adults as they get older.

Well thank the new age feminists for this, they have been promoting the whole love yourself, you're beautiful no matter what type of crap.  In theory it sounds like a good thing but really when your arteries are clogged, you have moldy milk underneath your rolls and your foot just fell off, maybe some of them will rethink it.  I saw an article that did a study showing fat shaming works so idk.  Quite honestly I am one of these heifers myself and I'd much rather be my old lean and athletic self than being happy about being able to eat a double whopper and a whole cheese cake everyday.

hah. ya, i got fat once in my life (2013-2015), so I know what it feels like. NEVER AGAIN. :D

My mom fat shamed me.. and I thank her. My dad actually approved of my weight gain, because in his mind I was "filling out" like a "true man" <- lol.

I weigh 18 lb. less than the average american woman... :ninja: :trollface:  :ibsquatting: :ibrunning: :ibjumping:

The average American is 33 pounds heavier than the average Frenchman, 40 pounds heavier than the average Japanese citizen, and a whopping 70 pounds heavier than the average citizen of Bangladesh. To add up to one ton of total mass, it takes 20 Bangladeshis but only 12.2 Americans.

saw this yesterday.. tough to watch - from an emotional perspective.

female sprinter falls and is just devastated. i think she fell in 2015 too.

Very interesting to see different countries criteria and the national trials, the UK trials were OK but they seem to struggle, but the US trials was on another level, they really are passionate about their athletes and push for them unlike in the UK. The criteria to qualify in USA was sub 10 seconds? correct me if im wrong. Justin gatlin won a good time. Jamaica trials was intense also, unfortunately for bolt's injury he couldn't compete, but yohan blake is not at the level to threaten bolt but gatlin definitely is getting back to his old self.

i've only seen the US trials but ya they are intense. Gatlin basically owns the "old farts sprinting thread". Man he's flying. Crazy to think he won gold in 2004 and is about to challenge everyone again in 2016. For a young guy, Bromell is impressive too.

I really hope Bolt is healthy come August.

Selected for the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team, which is seeking a third consecutive Olympic title, were: Carmelo Anthony (New York Knicks/Syracuse); Harrison Barnes (Golden State Warriors/North Carolina); Jimmy Butler (Chicago Bulls/Marquette); DeMarcus Cousins (Sacramento Kings/Kentucky); DeMar DeRozan (Toronto Raptors/USC); Kevin Durant (Oklahoma City Thunder/Texas); Paul George (Indiana Pacers/Fresno State); Draymond Green (Golden State Warriors/Michigan State); Kyrie Irving (Cleveland Cavaliers/Duke); DeAndre Jordan (Los Angeles Clippers/Texas A&M); Kyle Lowry (Toronto Raptors/Villanova); and Klay Thompson (Golden State Warriors/Washington State).

3 warriors (1 ex warrior - Barnes) on the olympic team.. and it could have been 4 with Curry.. and now 5, with Durant.

wtf.

Also.... While I do stand by my support of players to play wherever they want - hypocrisy is a bitch and in the age of Twitter when everything is saved durant deserves some shade in light of what he said in 2010 when the lakers got Dwight and Nash and the Cavs got Lebron:

Durant on twitter:
"Now everybody wanna play for the heat and the Lakers? Let’s go back to being competitive and going at these peoples!"

Lol.

haha. nice.

i still can't get over KD going to GSW. on paper that team is just incredible.

already looking forward to GSW/CLE in next year's finals.

What bothers me is the tons of people that criticize Durant. "He chose the easy path" and so on. Fuck off. He was presented with an opportunity and he took that opportunity. That's it. He would've been an idiot to ignore it.

"Honor" and stuff like that are just words for fools. In life, you take the best opportunities and you roll with them. It's better to be sorry for what you did than be sorry for what you didn't, or the opportunity that you didn't take.

This is just business, and he's maximizing his chances of winning. Simple.

True. Durant could have a couple of serious knee injuries and never be able to play again. Are the Thunder going to look after him? In this era of professionalism and free agency the days of loyalty are dead.

yup.

so.. will GSW go 82-0 next year?

:(

i'm excited to see what happens, and disappointed because I want to see Durant on a different team just so we can see another legit threat in the NBA. With him going to GSW, it's almost too easy now..

I already want to see a 3-peat of GSW/CLE in the finals.. However, I 100% want CLE to win again.

GSW is now at the point where they are just so stacked, that I find myself rooting against them.. ie, every opponent they face is such a huge underdog, and I love underdogs. I imagine this will be the overall sentiment now that Durant has joined GSW.

SO DEAD.

most fun thing i coded today was adding colors (red/green/yellow) to my ln-api-runner experiment.. to give me sexier pass/fail messages.. lmao.. in any other language it would be like, whatever.. but, in haskell, everything is sexy:

Code: [Select]
printFail message = do
  putChunk $ chunk ("Fail: " :: Text) & fore red & bold
  TIO.putStrLn message

printActualFailure message = do
  putChunk $ chunk ("Actual: " :: Text) & fore red & bold
  putChunk $ chunk message & fore cyan

printPass message = do
  putChunk $ chunk ("Pass: " :: Text) & fore green & bold
  TIO.putStrLn message

this part: & fore green & bold

sexy combinators.. the 'rainbow' package from haskell is really nice & fun.. going to add it to all of my cli migration/test scripts ;f

https://github.com/massysett/rainbow

also, interesting thing.. that guy's profile says:

4 years, 98 mil.. damn

they are also still trying to get Durant.. the only problem I have is, man what about Wade? dude needs to get paid...

Miami should be ashamed of themselves to treat Wade that way. Lowballing him on $10m a year. Delly is getting nearly $10m a year. Wade needs to go to the Knicks and team up with DRose.

ya definitely.. that's why if he leaves and gets some big $$, i'd probably be happier than if he stays. MIA really screwed themselves here - unless they just don't care at this point.. that would be disappointing though, considering what he's done for Miami.

i'd love to see him in CHI.
