I thought this season was kinda weak. Almost like they needed more guidance from the book that is yet to be finished. Having said that it's definitely set up for a big next season.

i never read the books so i don't have that perspective. I liked this season because it ended with all of the big players in position, ready to possibly get "all of the power".

feel pretty good.

absolutely ridiculous amount of coding today .. but.. in major refactor mode.. cleaning up a ton of stuff.. also super happy with this technique i figured out, for example in one of my functions:

Code: [Select]
getThreadPostPack_ByThreadPostM :: Maybe StandardParams -> UserId -> Entity ThreadPost -> HandlerErrorEff ThreadPostPackResponse
getThreadPostPack_ByThreadPostM m_sp user_id thread_post@(Entity thread_post_id ThreadPost{..}) = do

  lr <- runEitherT $ do

    thread_post_user <- isT $ getUserM user_id threadPostUserId
    thread_post_stat <- isT $ getThreadPostStatM user_id thread_post_id
    thread_post_like <- isT $ getLike_ByThreadPostIdM user_id thread_post_id

    --  thread_post_star <- getThreadPostStar_ByThreadPostM user_id thread_post

    user_perms_by_thread_post <- lift $ userPermissions_ByThreadPostIdM user_id (entityKey thread_post)

    m_org    <- isT $ getWithOrganizationM (lookupSpBool m_sp spWithOrganization) user_id threadPostOrgId
    m_forum  <- isT $ getWithForumM (lookupSpBool m_sp spWithForum) user_id threadPostForumId
    m_board  <- isT $ getWithBoardM (lookupSpBool m_sp spWithBoard) user_id threadPostBoardId
    m_thread <- isT $ getWithThreadM (lookupSpBool m_sp spWithThread) user_id threadPostThreadId

    pure (thread_post_user
         ,thread_post_stat
         ,thread_post_like
         ,user_perms_by_thread_post
         ,m_org
         ,m_forum
         ,m_board
         ,m_thread)

  rehtie lr left $
    \(thread_post_user, thread_post_stat, thread_post_like, user_perms_by_thread_post, m_org, m_forum, m_board, m_thread) -> do

      right $ ThreadPostPackResponse {
        threadPostPackResponseThreadPost       = threadPostToResponse thread_post,
        threadPostPackResponseThreadPostId     = keyToInt64 thread_post_id,
        threadPostPackResponseUser             = userToSanitizedResponse thread_post_user,
        threadPostPackResponseUserId           = entityKeyToInt64 thread_post_user,
        threadPostPackResponseStat             = thread_post_stat,
        threadPostPackResponseLike             = fmap likeToResponse thread_post_like,
        threadPostPackResponseStar             = Nothing,
        threadPostPackResponseWithOrganization = fmap organizationToResponse m_org,
        threadPostPackResponseWithForum        = fmap forumToResponse m_forum,
        threadPostPackResponseWithBoard        = fmap boardToResponse m_board,
        threadPostPackResponseWithThread       = fmap threadToResponse m_thread,
        threadPostPackResponsePermissions      = user_perms_by_thread_post
      }

it won't make any sense to anyone probably.. but it's pretty dope.. all of those isT's are actually escape hatches for errors.. so if any of those trigger, the whole function aborts and returns an error to the caller, which in most cases will return an HTTP error to the user of the api etc.. so it turns out to be fairly elegant imho.

refactoring a ton of stuff because i encountered a few lame bugs (which i knew would eventually pop up) because of how i was handling query paramaters in urls. so, still not done, probably going to take (all of today already) and all of tomorrow to get the code running again.. but, very happy with the changes i'm making right now.

pc!

so, my brother disappeared again this afternoon. it is, as our other brother said to me on the phone just now, only a matter of time before he dies. which i guess, technically speaking, is true for all of us. but it feels a lot more immediate for him than it does for most 25 year olds i know.

this is, as you might imagine, motivation-sapping. i'm going to get some noodles and drink some beer and watch something distracting until i fall asleep.

damn :/ :/

EPIC GAME OF THRONES SEASON.. a bunch of people i wanted to die, DIED.  :ninja:

Episode 10 was the greatest ever. I just don't know how they are gonna match it next season.

my fav episode is still the red wedding.. i mean that was brutal & shocking.

they kind of did it in the last episode too.

ya, it's going to be hard to top this season but.. seems like the stage is set for some huge battles. I didn't like the look on LittleFinger's face at the end. HEH!

Plus there's the battle for humanity looming.

should be good, can't wait to see how they cook it up. ;f

Holy shit 2-1.. I honestly think its a mental thing with England. They have an air of superiority that always hurts them. It dates back to them founding the sport and thinking no one was anywhere on their level before being proved wrong.

They did it again during the group stages when they tied Slovakia and blamed it on the fact that they were defending the entire match and you'd hear the commentators say they'd be better fit for the elimination rounds where teams played them to win. Germany beat Slovakia 3-0 btw. Even after Iceland's first goal the commentator said something like "cheap counter punch goal". I just don't like how they don't give other teams credit and fail to accept how good they actually are.

ya the commentators, for the most part, seemed to crap on england more than give iceland credit.

ICELAAAAAAAAAAAAAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hell yes!@@!$

i actually have some friends in iceland.. lool.. so i cheer for them when I can.

crazy stuff

lol @ eubank jr wanting to fight golovkin.

eubank jr hasn't fought anyone yet.. i mean he looks decent, but he's asking for trouble if he thinks he can get in there with golovkin right now. that fight won't get made until eubank jr gets some bigger names on his belt.

i mean, people want to see mayweather jr vs golovkin, ward vs golovkin etc.. those are the biggest names in boxing. i've never heard anyone mention Eubank Jr. :F

On the other hand.. looking forward to seeing Joshua fight bigger names. Man that dude is a freak. He seems to fight like every damn week too, hehe. Joshua has canon power.

barely slept last night because, well, when you're naked and lying next to a hot naked girl and you've just had sex a short while ago and she says, "i want to have sex with you so bad right now," you're best served not to fall asleep. and i was dog-sitting so i had to get up at like 7 and go over to my friends' place to walk their dog.

- daily routine

- some beach work for funsies

so tired.

#humblebrag  :highfive:

obviously i had a "lbss is a beast" thought go through my head while reading that paragraph.. but by the end, i almost forgot about it and wondered what kind of dog LBSS's neighbor has.

fwiw, i was up until 6:30 AM last night.. absolutely nothing like what LBSS talked about though. lmao.  :derp:

:headbang: that reactive/explosive p-chain power.

Thanks! Yes , my pchain is definitely much stronger than my quads, always have been.

it's the weirdest thing when they "don't feel good" but you still PR. maybe our perception of "feeling good" is just wrecked.

Well, you know, it's kinda fake. You get a PR which was not feeling PR-ish, you hype thinking what will happen if you felt 100% too, but it doesn't happen, PRs happen when they are to happen, doesn't matter how they feel.

damn nice. that's good stuff.

tbh, seems like your body is loving these sprint/reactive/jump assistance sessions.

Mind is loving them too. Constant progress, new technique stuff, lifetime PRs etc. Plus the extra motivation of body composition benefits.
With jumps and squats i am stuck at a well-below-PR level currently, it is very demotivating honestly. I am fighting through it but i am not enjoying it.

i definitely understand you on the new-pr's stuff.. feels good to have more stuff to PR. I personally feel better PR'n a run/sprint than a lift, because it just feels like more of an overall athletic/health improvement. i personally love the idea that I can now attempt to PR my 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1km, 5km, 10km etc.. out of everything though, jumping definitely is my favorite activity.. on a great day - running fast, is no comparison to having a great day and jumping your best, IMHO.. either way, i'm enjoying seeing more people sprinting/running and such on here, it's pretty cool.

ATG SQUAT:
6@20kg
4@40kg
2@60kg
1@80kg
1@90kg
1@100kg
4@80kg
7@70kg
7@70kg
-Was supposed to do 4-7-7. Got greedy warming up and decided to max-out too.
Got 100kg ( 2 plates ) after 6 months.  :headbang: Was not ATG like all the others, but was below parallel.
Kinda depressing how hard it was ( RPE 9.5, 1RM = 105kg tops ). Still motivating that i got it, progress is progress.

nice!!

Quote
80kg before maxing flew up. 80kg after maxing felt like 95%RM. Got all reps though in great ATG form.
Also, I am logging this 1.5 days later, legs are annihilated , cant believe this, mostly glutes but also abductors, hamstrings, quads ( in and out ). Pain even when walking. Crazy.

Good session again, good week overall.

ya great week for sure!
