soreness: insane, calves especially

didn't do anything yesterday.. that single leg stuff i did wrecked me.

oh btw, something i did that day was.. hit a decent pace while jogging, then transition into a single leg jump.. this actually was pretty interesting.. nice way to work on speed.. going to keep messing with that.. that's probably what killed me.

fell asleep while making mods to the site.. just woke up and fixed the 'reply border' that lbss talked about.

added 'lightbox popup' for images and a little img hover border thing so people know you can click them..

ideally i want the lightbox popup to have an 'innerzoom', so whatever picture you click to popup, you can move your mouse around inside of it and it auto zooms in..

im adding that because i want raptor and company to be able to zoom in nicely to whatever they choose when viewing pictures in the 2sexy4u forum

also it would be kind of cool to be able to zoom in so easy to vert/dunk pics, lifting pics etc..

i had it working somewhat last night BUT, i need to approach it differently.. wasn't working too well with lightbox.

ADARQ & LanceSTS - Q&A / Re: Backward depth drops
« on: September 26, 2012, 07:22:29 pm »
What are your experiences with backward depth drops for calf development?

I'm asking this because I observed something very interesting when I was doing step-ups: I wasn't too tired anywhere because of them but the one place I had HUGE soreness was the calves. Basically every time I put my leg back down from the step-up box I was doing an eccentric calf raise. I didn't feel it at the time but after I finished my sets my calves were fried. Never experienced any kind of calf soreness like the one that occured after those step-ups.

So I was thinking - shouldn't doing backwards stiff leg depth drops help quite a bit on calf training? The TUT would be pretty short with the possible downside of too many landings/landing stress, but as far as the amount of "weight" in that eccentric part - you can't replicate that in the weight room - too much for the back, at least for mine's. Plus you never really do backwards stuff often so they should take that as an "unusual" stress and adapt better to it than to regular calf raises etc.

Any opinions?

real quick reply because I have to go out:

I prefer backward drops, definitely hits my ankles/lower leg so much harder.. I usually feel alot 'stiffer' when performing backwards drops as opposed to forwards, no comparison.

backwards stiff leg drops are 'promoted' by WGF.. I usually just did backwards squat drops with a little forward lean.

the backward stiff leg drops (from lower box heights) sound like a good idea to me.

when you click "reply," the thread as it shows up below the text entry box has no line or other marker between posts. makes it hard to tell without looking closely where one post stops and another starts.

coo thanks, didn't realize my color mods faded that line out so much..

will fix later.

Boxing / Re: sergio martinez vs chavez jr

http://www.boxingnews24.com/2012/09/sergio-martinez-suffers-broken-hand-and-torn-ligaments-in-win-over-chavez-jr/

did you know that? nuts.. broken hand in 4th and torn ligaments in knee during the knockdown..

unbelievable tho that he was able to dominate chavez jr with that broken hand only 4 rounds in.

:o wtf, that is crazy, he truly deserved that victory over chavez and especially at his age, which chavez refers as an old man lol took chavez to school

ya that makes the ass whooping he took for 11 rounds even more impressive..

38 year old beating down a youngin' in his prime, for 11 rounds, with a broken hand after 4.

dude..... EXACTLY.

adarq.org 2.0: Art Deco

This is sick, really does load fast, but behind the banner is bare white color, did you have a plan in mind about.
can't wait to see more transformations.
 :strong:

adarq.org v2.0  :headbang:

ya i'll fix all of that in time :D

glad you're liking it. :F

The ESPN ticker was annoying for me because I could see NBA scores... and I watch NBA games off torrents and/or NBA League Pass recorded games so I don't wanna see the score.

When I was browsing adarq.org before and the ESPN ticker was there I had to be really careful not to peek and see the scores.

hah should have told me.. i figured it might be of use for some people, bet i figured wrong tho.. i doubt anyone would look at it.. had no problem removing it, looks way better without it.

Awesome work Adarq! It's looking real goood

sick man thanks alot!

got more stuff planned, gonna be fun.

btw the forum should also be ~100x faster now.. notice the difference?

yea mate much faster.

i'm not a big fan of the lime green, but it's growing on me. I'm uneasy about change, preferring the familiar old look, but this one is much snappier and fresher.

ya, the lime green shit will take some time but it'll grow on everyone trust..

this is miami art-deco status going ham on adarq.org

thanks bro!@$

I like it, looks much better to me.  And its waaaay faster, even the login  :highfive:!

siccck thanks.. ya man, we're gonna blast the bench, for this site. trust.

I love how deeply nested quotes get darker and darker, very cool.

same. i also love how when you hover over any link, it dissolves into another color..

looks so sexy, random images worthy.

got lots of stuff planned.. even some 'progress tracking' components etc, in the future.

Haven't been here in a long time, just moved into uni accomodation, so stressfull, cooking, waking up early.

How's everything adarq, workouts looking good.

i had this weird understanding that quads were not a good muscle to develop as it might overshadow might hams, so i concentrated on improving my hams and glutes.

well, it's hard to overdevelop the quads if you're lunging & doing direct glute/ham work

having really beast quads ties in directly to vertical jump and short acceleration with sprints.

Quote
I think this was a mistake as quads are also important in sprinting.

yup

Quote
know any good quad activation and warm drills i could use.

best quad activation stuff I know if is just the simple unloaded TKE's... either ISO or for rep-minis..

just sit down, in a leg-extension type of position, and extend both legs.. focus on really 'squeezing that vmo'.. you can hold this for time or do little controlled reps etc.. just turn on those quads manually, works really well..

other than that, you'd have to turn on the quads dynamically with stuff like double or single leg pogos etc.. stiff leg.

as for some direct quad work (other than squat/lunges), I like leg-extension tke's for high reps (with weight on the stack), sissy squats (body weight), and utilizing HIGH REP squat/lunge schemes...

20 rep squats and long distance lunges just smash the quads.

thanks
