Very interesting. I'll start using my powerjumper again and see what happens. Will probably limit it's use to low box depth jumps and two-leg bounds and broad jumps, since in a one-leg bound, because one leg is flexed, it won't have any effect (or even worse - make the bound imbalanced).

Good luck! But I don't expect my gains were typical. I had developed a humongous deficit. Even though I kept jumping, I was focused on squatting more and getting bigger. People who have been training with more balance probably won't get the drastic results I did, or at least not as quickly. Would have thought a 20%+ increase in jump height would have taken months, not weeks. Of course, now they really seem to be slowing down. But I can't complain that much because I'm a lot further ahead right now than I thought I'd be at this point. I even managed to dunk a small soccer ball with a two-step run on a 9'10" rim yesterday! First time dunking anything. Even though it's a couple inches short of official height and it's a smaller ball, I'm still very happy. I could barely touch a 9'10 rim a couple months ago, even in shoes and with a run up.

nice! good gains man

thanks Andrew, i will see if i can post some videos of me jumping/doing squat. but i am young so i didn't start doing weighted-squat, so do body-weight squat count?

np.. sure bodyweight squat can count but, it's just going to show us some of your mobility issues more than anything.. which is still good to get feedback on.. if you don't want to do intense "weighted squatting", just incorporate dumbell squats.. use light db's and progress the weight every 2 weeks (2.5-5lb each dumbell increase), it would be better than simply bodyweight squatting and would prepare you better for eventually transitioning into barbell squatting.

steppin it up bro nice to see!

You think the depth drops are a good priming exercise for the day before?

thanks man, and ya, seems like it.. i mean, legs felt crazy bouncy day after the first session.. i bet ill fly today.. if you look at my depth JUMP graphs etc in the instant rfd part 1 article, i talk about using high volume dJ's to get that stim, but high volume dj's should work similar.. im liking them better since it's just the eccentric/iso... but ya my legs feel crazy right now, 70 in a row is a pretty significant stimulus.

Well i was really gaining nicely squatting but i had to do other lifts because i got a tattoo right where the bar rests. Its amazing how much easier it is to stack weight on eating higher carbs.

oo cool what kind of tat u get?

Quote
Darq have you measured your height since training just wondering cuz i get measured 5'9.5 and i used to consistenly get 5'10.5

? i dno i measured it in shoes like 6+ months ago... 6'1 in shoes, measured reach (single arm) like ~3 months ago, 95.. havnt really shrunk or anything.. at one point, when i hadn't been lifting, i did get a taller measurement, i was like 6'2, that was 12+ months ago, when i hadn't lifted for 8+ months.. perhaps the heavy squatting every day has caused me to shrink an inch, no idea though, cold have just been a bad measurement.

Hey guys, so many people say that correct jump form is very important, and the correct squat form is important. but what are the correct forms for them? what is a correct jump form and a correct squat form???
also is the correct squat form necessary for body-weight squat?

well, i could post tons of videos to try and show you the various forms of squat/single+double leg jumps etc, but, it would be better if you posted your form on each exercise, then we could tell you what you'd need to improve specific to YOUR body/build etc..

jump/squat form depend alot on how you are built.. so for a jump vid, show the full runup & of course jump, for squat vid, you should show a good side angle which gets everything in the shot.

in the end it's always more beneficial to see your form and give you cues/aspects of it to fix, rather than showing you perfect form of jumpers/exercises and just saying 'do it like that'.. if you want to see perfect form, look at olympic level high jumpers/elite dunkers for single leg (& elite dunkers for double leg) - ie TFB/olympic athletes, for perfect deep/front squatting look at olympic weightlifters.

going to record my 50 depth drops in a row today, hopefully camera doesnt glitch, bugs me alot.. anyway, im going light on squat so i can go more intense on other stuff liek these depth drops etc.

thanks mang! tomorrow ill be box squatting... 3RM... its gonna be good!  :ibsquatting:

"mastering single leg bounds will result in some seriously strong legs" thats a fact.

ya it will, single leg bounds are the truth.. that quote sounds like something i said? lolol

wil answer tmw, but, generally, cardio is LONG WALK + interval sprints.. so it's not like it's slow jogging etc.. it's not really "impact cardio", so it's much less detrimental as a stimulus.

Some of those jumps look 40+ by how high your arm is over the rim, is that 10'?

ya it's 10', that's a 10 i measured long ago, rim is same though.. there's only one 9'11 rim on that court now and it's always this one hoop for some reason, rim gets bent down an inch.. but ya that's 10

Nice jumps... Motivating

Im 180 (+20) actually, i lied. My reactions shit but ive maintained with my lifts so i think ill let my weight go and try to get 150 like i wanted to before later. Im eating my ass off so if i get to cardio and dieting i think itll be easy.

why havn't you improved your lifts though with 20lb+ gain? curious?

man u got big dieting to do, sucks for you lmao! go get it.
