Here are a very interresting video of two olympic high jumpers and there body and jumping differences!

Watch the difference from Stefan Holms standing and running vertical. His reactivity and movement efficiency is abnormal!

forgot to link this yesterday.. dunks from a few days back on the "zeus rim"

What's the thing with 20 rep sets? I mean, I know that's for added volume and stuff, but why 20 reps?

20 reps is the best number of reps for fatiguing pretty much every muscle group, including the quads.. by 20 reps my quads, hamstrings, and glutes are toast.. if i do max 10RM's my quads don't get hit nearly as hard.. 20 reps makes me feel great too, so much blood flow.

those pics are SICK.

thanks alot man, i have a feeling tomorrow is going to be alot better, hope so..

peace!

BW dropped to a consistent 68kg, give or take 0.5kg

nice vid, just throwing your bodyweight around easy, good relative strength..

why you hunched over though? you were gassed after those dips or what?

nah wasnt me i think, always just did squats as prescribed by you.

was only thinkin of doing it cos of the ankle, dun think i can squat properly, but i wanted to work my jumping involved muscles abit, hence the RDL interest...

as long as it isn't bugging your ankle badly, go for it, it would be good if you could do something to help keep some lower body strength while recovering from this injury, RDL fits well.

Vacation starts tomorrow. Gonna be in NYC, then Connecticut and upstate(ish) NY, where my mom's family is. Home on the 27th. While gone it's gonna be nonstop visiting, but I'm going to try to get some workouts in for general conditioning. E.g. Ross Enamait's deck of cards. Possibly even jumping rope if my uncle's basement ceiling is high enough. At least, gonna get some good stretching in. Hopefully by next Tuesday my hip will be back in working order and I can get back to the real business of trying to put a leather-and-rubber ball through a metal hoop ten feet off the ground.

squat your GF for reps, deadlift your GF for reps, curl your GF for reps, floor press your GF for reps.

Squats
[185,225 x6][275,325 x4][365x2][385,405 x1]
- 405 4x2, 3x1
- 365 2x2

* made little progress from last week. BW at morning at 194.5lb. not yet feeling the effect of heavier bodyweight. need more time.
* Paused 365 maxed at 2 reps. 3rd rep is not possible.
* i've been doing 405x4 (including todays workout) for 7 times already since Nov 24.  405x4 not yet repeatable for 4+ sets. once i go past 405x4, 4sets.. its usually a sign that i got a lot stronger.  time for more depth jumps tomorrow. low tonnage squats not really getting me DOMd. just CNS drained - nothing that sleep cant repair.
* i have vid of 405x4 set 2. weight shifted more forward than usual. form not really the best.

Aren't you going to get arrested for carrying a knife on the streets? It's illegal in Romania. Knives, swords etc are called "white weapons" and are illegal.

i don't carry a big knife on the skreets, i carry a small one then.. on your own property it's fine, open carry laws in florida on your own property.

Milk Intake, Circulating Levels of Insulin-Like Growth Factor-I, and Risk of Colorectal Cancer in Men

    *  Received December 15, 2000.
    * Revision received June 27, 2001.
    * Accepted July 6, 2001.

Abstract

Background: Milk and dietary calcium may have antiproliferative effects against colorectal cancer, but milk intake also raises serum levels of insulin-like growth factor-I (IGF-I). A high ratio of IGF-I to IGF-binding protein-3 (IGFBP-3) has been linked to an increased risk of colorectal cancer.Conclusion: Intake of dairy products was associated with a modest increase in circulating IGF-I levels, but intake of low-fat milk was associated with lower risk of colorectal cancer, particularly among individuals with high IGF-I/IGFBP-3. This subpopulation, which is at increased risk of colorectal cancer, might benefit the most from specific dietary intervention.Conclusions: Our results indicate that individuals showing high consumption of milk have a potentially reduced risk of colon cancer; however, the association does not appear to be due to intake of calcium, vitamin D, or to specific effects of fermented milk.

A Role for Milk Proteins and their Peptides in Cancer Prevention

Author: Parodi, P. W.1

Source: Current Pharmaceutical Design, Volume 13, Number 8, March 2007 , pp. 813-828(16)

Abstract:
A role for the amount and type of dietary protein in the etiology of cancer has not been studied extensively. Nevertheless, there is no compelling evidence from epidemiological studies to indicate that protein, at levels usually consumed, is a risk factor for cancer. On the other hand, animal studies suggest that certain peptides and amino acids derived from dietary proteins may influence carcinogenesis. The predominant protein in milk, casein, its peptides, but not liberated amino acids, have antimutagenic properties. Animal models, usually for colon and mammary tumorigenesis, nearly always show that whey protein is superior to other dietary proteins for suppression of tumour development. This benefit is attributed to its high content of cystine/cysteine and ?-glutamylcyst(e)ine dipeptides, which are efficient substrates for the synthesis of glutathione. Glutathione is an ubiquitous cellular antioxidant that directly or through its associated enzymes destroys reactive oxygen species, detoxifies carcinogens, maintains proteins in a reduced state and ensures a competent immune system. Various experiments showed that tumour prevention by dietary whey protein was accompanied by increased glutathione levels in serum and tissues as well as enhanced splenic lymphocyte proliferation, phagocytosis and natural killer, T helper and cytotoxic T cell activity. Whey protein components, ?-lactoglobulin, ?-lactalbumin and serum albumin were studied infrequently, but results suggest they have anticancer potential. The minor component lactoferrin has received the most attention; it inhibits intestinal tumours and perhaps tumours at other sites. Lactoferrin acts by induction of apoptosis, inhibition of angiogenesis, modulation of carcinogen metabolising enzymes and perhaps acting as an iron scavenger. Supplementing cows with selenium increases the content of selenoproteins in milk, which on isolation inhibited colon tumorigenesis in rats.

that study is interesting ^^^

anyway, if anyone has any more REAL studies, post em`..

will check journals tmw, and make some vids tmw, busy day

12/22/2010

bw = 154
soreness = calfs a bit
aches/injuries = right upper back, right ankle (i tweaked it a bit trying a trick last dunk session, didnt upload but i tried some lob 360 bullshit and landed odd)
fatigue = moderate
diet = prot shake, dunking, prot shake, chipotle, movie, cookies, training + prot shake, prot shake + chocolates, sandwhich

workout #1:  :ibjumping:
- jumps/dunks, pics above

workout #2: strenf, no walking  :ibsquatting:
- half squat: MSEM set 1: 315 x 1, 325 x 1, 315 x 1, 325 x 1
- half squat: MSEM set 2: 325 x ~12-14 singles, i forget, got stronger halfway through, could have hit singles all night, short rest
- half squat: 255 x 21

without walking / sprinting before squatting, im strong as hell.. so what i've been doing is good, literally felt like a monster tonight i could have squatted 325 singles forever.

right ankle was kind of messed up during dunking, after too.. during squatting (i had massaged it a ton prior), it felt good.. feels better now.. hopefully itll be good fri, need to murder some massive jumps fri.

well for the history of the nfl combine it's been double arm reach, they might have changed it recently (only the last 1-2 years).
