Thanks man!

I plan to write on a few more subjects and then get into the practical field of how to actually train. I've sketched out 3 sheets of ideas to write about.

I'd like to talk about the core, the tendons, the calves, frequency vs volume, partial ROM movements and actual training templates.

Well yeah... I mean it makes sense to isolate the muscles in order to compare them. But it has to be the same machine with the same settings.

Otherwise, leverage differences in different machines, the number of wheels for the machine's cable etc might give erroneous results.

1835
Well, it's a hard question. I think maybe the best you could do is test them in isolation on the same machine, if you have a machine capable of being both a leg curl and a leg extension machine.

1836
Yeah but in that movement both the glutes and the hamstrings fire. So you're basically comparing a group of two muscles with the quads. How do you know how much contribution the hamstrings give?

1837
Yeah but how did you determine that your hamstrings are so much more stronger than your quads?

1838
Really? How did you determine this?

a few of the RL DLRVJ felt pretty good, interestingly.

Can't get over that dunk, in my list it is #1 , tied with the MJ over Ewing one.

that probably wasn't even vince's prime in terms of ups.  his early toronto days were.

Those WERE his early Toronto days. The 2000 Olympics was after his 2nd year in the league.

Vince was actually training with a football friend back then. Goes to show the difference between football and basketball prehab training, I guess :D

I have pretty much always played basketball in running shoes and never had any ankle sprain in my life. Pretty much the opposite - I had a few moments when I stepped on someone else's foot but my shoes would just deform over the other person's shoe and my foot would not take the blunt of the shot.

Other than that, if you're an idiot and take stupid risks jumping over three people, then it's going to happen no matter what. Just take care.

If anything, I'd rather be afraid for my knees playing in non-responsive, rigid basketball shoes that take the function of the foot away from you and overload the quad and the knee.

Yes ^^^

They go hand in hand. Bad feet generate anterior pelvic tilt and back problems, and tight hip flexors and spinal erectors can alter the function of the feet as well.
