Yup , that jump , its insanely high , ~42'' or more , legit , word!

DAMN , i just checked his account, he removed all the old vids! That's a real loss to the dunking youtube community!!! :( :( :(

NOT kidding , those vids and comment battles were epic...

lmao tell me about it, i still have those vids too i just made them private lol but i can put them back up if you want. Just curious, who are you and wats ur youtube username? I wonder if you were one of the seemingly hundreds of ppl i used to talk shit to. By the way to everyone here I'm not here to start shit or anything, I know i did a lot of stupid shit when i was younger but i'm different now

Hey clamant,  :welcome:

You can see my youtube link at my singature down here , you know me , we comment each other's vids.

We never talked shit , i am not into that. In the beginning i supported you when everyone dissed you, then i was irritated from your arrogance but that was all. Anyway , thats history , its jsut that those comment fights with UH etc are "cult" , you need to bring the vids back :D

FWIW , I believe ure far different ,  its obvious , youre taking it easy , doing ur thing , not freaking out , you look much more chilled and your jumping and dunking is much more legit now.

Oh man tell me about it, I gotta find those comments now that you reminded me haha. My best comment battles were with adarqui himself tho lol oh man just ask him about it. But yeah thanks for the love yo, I'm definitely way more chilled, some dude posted a hate comment on my latest vid that was completely untrue, but i just left it whereas I used to reply furiously to like every hate comment.

lol, ya that was funny.. i left a comment bout your dunks being layups, then you replied, then it just got out of hand for months because we both couldn't let each other get the last word.. eventually you won though, I literally could not get the last insult in and that's all i was trying to do bwahahahaha.. you are well trained in internet warfare.

:D

peace

11/04/2010

bw = 150
soreness = hamstrings a bit, back a bit
aches/injuries = left lower back, right mid back, left ham tendon slightly during glute bridges tonight, right forearm 'pull' (happened when reaching up for touch height hah), calfs
fatigue = not too bad, didnt get 8 hours sleep though so eyes burny all day

diet: 4 protein shakes, chicken + mashed potatoes + salad + chocolate-cake, little piece of chocolate

workout: trapz + shoulders
- S1: ssbar shrug: 165 lb @ 5, 5, 20, 20, 20, 25, 25, fast: 10, dead
- S1: standing ohp: 70 lb @ 5, 5, 14, 13, 17, 15, 15, fast: 10, 5, dead
- S2: pushups: BW + 10 lb : 35, 32,
- S2: glute bridges: 100, 50,
- S2: calf raises: 50, 50,

safety squat bar shrugs and deadlift ftw.. for shrugs, the 'comfort pads' on it, they slide up your thigh ez, unlike barbell shrugs gripping your shorts.. for deadlift, it's elevated ~4 more inches or so, which I like, makes keeping form alot easier because the bar is elevated slightly.. plan on actually deadlifting with my SSBAR now :D

exercises to add:
- single arm db standing ohp
- single arm db side bends
- ssbar deadlifts for reps
- chinup/pullup holds with weight
- single arm db curl
- trainer CoC gripper repouts
- db front & lateral raise

total repertoire so far:
- squat
- dips / pushups
- chinups / neutral grip pullups / wide grip pullups / single arm db row
- 3" & 2" bar curl
- 2" bar standing ohp
- db shrug, ssbar shrug
- high rep walking lunges
- glutes bridges / calf raises
- rear delt fly

:D

i feel like natho :)

Figured I'd mention it here since I've already mentioned it everywhere else, I got my results and I have torn cartildge in my ankle, Dr said I have a "pot hole" in my ankle, I'm going to need to see a foot/ankle specialist.

damn that sucks man :/ keep us posted on what foot/ankle specialist says, stay focused.

peace man

havent had time the past few days to write down wat i did...

got a bench PR, DJ PR.

normally i get like 1 joint of my fingers on the ceiling, managed to get like 2 joints for 5-6 times total.

gonna go test vert later if possible, hoping for a PR in that too haha...

whoa, nice, been wondering where you have been.. sounds like you are ready to hit some nice PR jumps, hope so.

peace!

tons of studies have correlated leg strength improvement via squatting to vert gains etc.. their are old russian sports stats and stuff like that, which give details about percentiles on various performance markers, by age etc.. can't find them though. There hasn't really been any worldwide studies on it though, from what I've seen. All you can go on really is small sample sizes, use those averages/stats.

here's a question from Nizar to Prof. Verkhoshansky:

Quote
Dear Professor Dr. Verkhoshansky,

I'm interested in the average relative strength numbers of elite level highjumpers in the squat exercise. Also, do these high jumpers ever reach relative strength levels that don't allow for further transfer to the high jump?

Is there a general guideline derived from practice on how much relative strength is enough for athletes interested in maximizing vertical jump height? I'm not only asking about jump height off a single leg like in the highjump, but also about vertical jump height  from a standing start or from a run with both feet.

Yours respectfully,
Nizar Abu-Hamdeh
Vienna, Austria

you'd probably have to use a normal distribution curve to find what percentile you are in. Assuming jumping is normally distributed. Find the median. do some research and calculate the standard deviation of a decent sample on a calculator. Then calculate how many standard deviations away desired vert jump number is from median. (zscore) Then find a normal distribution table and find the percentile that matches up with your z score.

LOL WTF.
