like i always say about my dude RHONEX, he's the real deal.
50k bonus today, beating a long standing peach tree 10k road record. it says he ran 27:01, but you can also see him crossing at 26:59. He did this *in heat/humidity* and it's the fastest time ever run in the US (for a road 10k).

crazy box jumps as usual. sl one looking smooth.
with single vs double, the simple process of "thinking" about the jump might cause too much interference with the speed of a single leg jump. for a double, you're on the ground longer, so it's probably not as much of a problem. but for single, those conscious mental signals slow it down a bit. in a game, you're mind is on something else (or blank and just reacting) and you just perform the movement relaxed & free.
so maybe don't worry about it as much in training. because in games/amp'd up sessions, you probably will be able to let loose more and get that extra performance bump. as long as you're getting those movements in, it'll get you ready for the epic jumps.

one day i just wasn't landing any DLRVJ dunks, so I said let me try an L-SLRVJ and i got way up. was crazy. then i started trying to shift completely into a single leg jumper, which felt much more normal for me.

Did a quick search. Since 1/1/2015 , the last 5 years that is with the current one being the 5th, only 4 times below 3:50 were registered, none of which was below 3:49.
15 times the last decade, none below 3:47.
Dunno, 3:43 seems like a few galaxies away.

times have gotten alot slower.
IMHO, i really think it has to do with races being more strategic now. there's too many sit & kick types out there. need more people who are willing to push the limits early.
an example would be Eliud Kipchoge in the marathon.. he's not a "sit & kick type", goes out at world record pace pretty much every race. That's the kind of mindset we'd need to see from today's milers. I never see it.

props to Centro but that's "pathetic". everyone just sat back, relaxed, and tried to win on a kick. Prefontaine was rolling in his grave.

Cheruiyot ran 3:50.49 @ Pre .. ALMOST faster than the gold medal 1500m in 2016.
That's not going to happen in 2020.. Cheruiyot will make sure of that.
I want to see people gun it. I definitely get frustrated watching slow sit & kick races. All you need is *one* person to go out hard, make it a real race, & dismantle that slow "hang back" pack.

light day. wanted to do a long run but, inhaling bugs caused me to stop. if u inhale one, it can make you cough violently while running.. feels scary.
got a haircut.
- first hair cut in years.. lol.
07/03/2019:
- morning bw: 151
- feel good
- injury area = achy/painful when i "test it" .. it's like i've made 0 progress when I test it.
- did some light stretch/position stuff on it while at work, loosened it up a bit.
- felt great during the light run .. have felt great afterwards as well.
- really want this thing to go away. i'm at the point where i legitimately don't care about racing again etc, just want to relax and enjoy running (which I basically can do right now), but not worry about light runs potentially causing damage to the injury etc. ie, just want it to disappear so i can run light knowing i'm doing something good for me, not something that could be preventing things from healing.
dinner:
- basmati rice + {sauteed red bell pepper + jalapeno} + avocado + salt, 2 chicken tenders
10:00 AM: bw
- strong
- 5-10sec paused dead hang ng pullups: BW x 6
- full dips: BW x 8

Ankle nearly fully better, recovery been good. Unfortunately have had this horrible tension headache for like 3 days that's made exertion very hard, so had to bail when I tried to lift. Hopefully back on track tmrw for some upper work.

rest day.
did some deep tissue into my glute area while walking around slowly. got into that injury spot HARD. felt better afterwards. felt decent throughout the day. so today, it was just that one spot deep in there that i could feel.
no stretching again today. giving tissues a break. might do a light run tmw. or might rest more.
ate very light the last few days. hence the 151.
seeing my abs a bit again. they disappeared completely at 160+ lol.
07/02/2019:

- both achilles achy/legs achy/beatup - long walks are intense (like i always say)
dinner:
- will try and log my dinners at least
- basmati rice + {sauteed asparagus + garlic} + avocado + salt + some roasted/salted almonds
- milk + some chocolate almonds afterwords while watching women's worldcup
10:00 AM: bw
- strong but relaxed
- 5-10sec paused dead hang ng pullups: BW x 5
- full dips: BW x 7

i hope someone gets it as well. it's an incredible record. 2nd place in that race also broke the WR and ran a "slower" 3:43. Yomif has gotten the closest since (indoor - 3:47.01), i think.

crazy. 3:43, 3:43, 3:44, 3:46. It's one of those nearly untouchable records.
Jakob ran 3:52 last year at the Prefontaine Classic. His 3:51 is a great improvement for sure. Every second from here on is enormous, going to be extremely difficult getting that 3:43, especially the way milers/1500m guys run nowadays. Too many sit & kick races. You rarely see people going under 3:50 anymore. If more guys pressed up front, you'd see these times start dropping.
Cheruiyot could probably consistently get under 3:50 (in fast races) right now, but even he lacks that next level to get under 3:46 IMHO. Jakob has no fear trying to chase down Cheruiyot so, he won't be too far off chasing a guy like that. He'll get some big times that way.
Jakob is up there battling with Kenyans, he's the real deal lmao.
Can't wait to see how everything plays out for the Olympic trials/2020 Olympics. Lots of young hungry folks looking to takeover.

injury areas loosened up alot on the walk. some other stuff achy after (achilles/calves/feet), but basically to be expected - long walks are tough. legs/lungs/cardiovascular-sys feel pretty gr8 tho.
