it was an elbow injury not a nerve issue i think and also i'm sure he's got soft tissue people working on him before/after practice whenever he wants and it's not only surgeons and shit

stretchexpert is just trying to be an expert, and advocating something completely useless, like usual :/

Beginning of next cycle this week.
My original plan was to repeat previous cycle , which was strength/size based.
But now im having 2nd thoughts , only thing i want to change is the squating, so the cycle is not strength/size based but more a transition to power. Still want to get my limit strength up though.

So here are the changes : ( red = what im changing from previous cycle )

Day 1:
Squat MSEM 2x3 ---> build up to 3RM or MSEM 3x1
Bench 4x6
Rows 4x6
Biceps/Triceps 3x12

Day 2:
Squat 4x6 ---> MSEM with a little more volume , something like 4x3x1 or 3x4x1
BSS 3x8
Calves 3x12

Im gonna be doing some conditioning too now to get leaner.
My fav is 2x8-10 ~100yrd sprints at ~60% , ~1min rest between sprints , ~5 mins rest between sets.
Not adding depth jumps yet , thats on next cycle. Gonna add pogo jumps though.
1 jump/dunk session every week too.

How does it look?

im confused on the 2nd day, 4x6 = 4 sets of 6 singles? if anything i'd do 4x3-4 not 4x6.

looks fine, just get in a volume squat day every 4th-5th session or so.

why did you change your plan?

yea i was gonna post this up, the 42 inch vert was sick

42 inch vert= nbd. on my 10 person aau team, 3 have around 40 inch vert based on what iv seen when we messing around in practice.

5'9 pg touches 10'9
5'8 pg touches 10'8
5'10 guard touches ~11' 4 ( no that wasnt a typo)

plus a few people are around 37
6'5 center touches 11'5
5'11 forward touches 10'10
6'2 forward touches ~11

nbd = ? no big deal?

42 is a huge deal..

what do you think of this

im laughing hard, that was so retarded..

lebron james 'does that stretch' 200+ times a day playing basketball..

also, the biceps aren't causing his elbow pain, if anything, it's a lack of bicep strength.. strong biceps help protect from tricep-overuse (elbow extension) injuries.

you just made BRUCELEE on this forum extremely jealous..

nice pics man real lean.

kinda disappointed that the vert is still abt the same as 2 months ago, at week 17..
when the weightages for most of the lifts have improved some.
i mean, the squat's gone up like 20kg or so, but there's no noticeable jump in vert.

fuck.

:/

when can you get back into the gym 2x/week.. your strength has gone up pretty good, so my prescription now would be to try and gain that explosive strength from the max strength gains you made.. i would have expected a bit more vert gains than you got, with those squat increases, but since it didn't happen it's plan B time.

plan B equals:
- SVJ/RVJ's x 3x3each (just to get some work in), depth jumps 2x5, REA squat 3x3 (wakes you up for squatting), MSEM (2-3x3)+ (4min rest)+ jumpsquat complexes (2-3x5) (+4min rest), 2x/week, 2 sessions per week, then 1 session the next + volume day, repeat
- normal basketball/jumps on other days etc

the key here is the REA, MSEM + jump squat complex.. REA is a good wakeup for squatting, but the MSEM = heavy singles, done with rest in between, for a set.. you've been repping out squat, even if it's for triples, it sounds like you need to MAINTAIN as much max strength as possible, but transition into singles, which will help you with one all out effort each jump (RFD).

i know you might be a little upset, but those gains you made on squat are not fruitless, we just have to try and realize those gains in your jumping.. it depends on experience level, but for some people it transfers right over, for others some alternative methods need to be used such as the MSEM.

you will get those gains man just stay focused.. you've put in great work.

tell me when you can go 2x/week etc, you need to really do something very specific during that time and really improve that explosive strength deficit.

peace

Cut You In Half Press:

A barbell with a double sided razor blade bar, in the middle. So, you can just barely touch chest and then press the bar, but if you fail, it will chop your torso in half.

do you think 3x a week will be alright?

i'd go 2x, if you wanted a third session just do bodyweight circuit, pushups/dips & chinups/pullups etc.

agreed check my vid at 2:12, there's a big difference in form

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IXkrwz5p-OU

ya.. i like your form better :D

since we're droppin` vids, PEEP it:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=41XOX40WJeY

my lefty J actually looks better than my right.. this is lazy shooting though so whatever.

the best drill i did to improve my shooting was standing right in front of the hoop, and arching it high /swooshing it right into the basket with good form.. that's how i got my left handed J, did that for months and months every day, 100+ of those, then i'd shoot around, but i'd always start with those drills.

i shot like 4 jumpers the other night and i had 4 airballs.. lolol.. if i practiced it though, within a month my shot would be back i bet.
