I analysed the competition that took place and was watching the 100m and recorded to get a time and the winner got 3.65 seconds to 30m, which is ridiculous and 4.65 seconds in the 40m.

But got 11.3 seconds at the end. Interesting how you can get a quick time in the short distance but then it just fades towards the end.

You would think the genetics is in the fast twitch muscle fiber during the drive phase but also genetics in the endurance towards the end.

just thinking out loud to myself

if those were the 100m splits as produced by the electronic timing, then it could be injury.

that looks like a pretty fast 60m to me. if you're able to hit a good 60m, you don't fall off that bad.

so could be a timing error like Joe said, or injury etc.

genetics & training definitely come into play. some people can extend out their ATP-PC system just a tad bit longer, some can maintain that top speed they reached at 60m longer (with good speed endurance/relaxation/mechanics) & a better developed anaerobic-glycolysis energy system. i imagine you'd see 200m-100m guys with much better speed endurance than 60m-100m guys, but it's hard to find 200m guys with ATP-PC systems/power on the level of 60m-100m guys.

Bolt was dominant in 100m & 200m, his explosiveness & speed endurance was psychotic. I imagine he'd get toasted in 60m races though, ie someone like Christian Coleman would smoke him through 60m. But then Coleman can't hold that speed as long as Bolt, so Bolt smokes him over 100m. Regardless, none of them will fall off that bad unless injured/etc.

you do lots of shorter sprints in your training, so speed endurance would be a critical component if you wanted to maximize your 100m. don't even need to hit max-v either, can easily do it through submax work: buildups + float, tempo work (150's etc). that stuff can prepare you quite well (energy systems, CNS & muscle/tendon composition etc).

2cents.

Glutes sore from Thursday's run! This is good news, since my right glute never got sore from running last year, even on hills, so this shows some progress in terms of it actually doing work while running.

nice! good news.

you're getting lots of good easy runs in, it definitely builds you up.

lots of speculation that Kawhi is going to the Clippers. That'd be major.

also that the Lakers are trying to get Anthony Davis, which I think we predicted in the 2018-2019 thread.

also... i'm surprised Bol Bol isn't higher up in the draft.

I'd like to see MIA pick him up: Bam, Whiteside, Bol Bol. Huge squad. But there's talks of MIA trading Josh Richardson to the Pelicans, in some 3 way trade where the Lakers also get Davis, and MIA gets the 4th pick.

some serious footage right here. crazy potential considering he's 7'2 and moves/shoots like this:

damn my legs felt crazy strong today.. held back tho, because i might want to go hard tmw morning. might run a hard 1km tmw.

this "careful lunging" is making my legs/glutes feel very strong (like usual when I do them).

I did that floor toe touch for a long time (after last thurs track session) and it flared up the injury. Knew I shouldn't have done it but, was annoyed that I was feeling pain holding that position. I'm dumb sometimes, is what it is. It's kinda hard for me not go into that position, because i usually do it when throwing dog toys - so it's easy for me to reach down and stretch hamstrings etc, then feel the tweak, get pissed, and stretch it harder. lmao.

Anyway, lunges are strengthening everything up, instead of making things worse, so that's good. Just trying to run less and take more rest days to try and get this shit to disappear. Might have some long-term damage in there (sacral spine/glute insertion/ham origin/hip) tho so, who knows.

06/14/2019:
- legs felt great

i can get flexible quite easily and avoid injuries at least catastrophic with just squat and some jumps. its when u play a lot of contact sports that injury ocur

yeah contact sports suck :/

2155
Also! Forget I did a squat check last Friday after my lifts! Was pleasantly surprised since I have barely squatted at all and nothing heavy in a damn minute. Bar x a few to grease the groove as it were then 135x3, 225x2, 315x1 and this 365 single. I feel like I definitely had more but was quite happy to maintain this as easily as it felt, especially with no belt/knee sleeves/Oly shoes!

solid.

kingfish-ish.

 :ibsquatting:

damn we need a kingfish squat icon. big weight, big pause, big depth.

Thanks Andrew! I swear I don't look that big in person! I feel small in the gym and just normal in public until I see a pic of me next to someone 😂

nice!

Been reading a few 5K training plans. They are all very similar. Each week they include a 5K run, a longer slower run and a fartlek/tempo/hill sprint run. That's what i like doing anyway if you look back at my running logs and it make sense too: increase aerobic capacity with longer runs, increase anaerobic with sprints, improve 5K tempo handing with 5K itself.

yup. and just easy runs mixed in if possible.

pretty solid way of training for it.

Ok, for the next 1,5 month im just gonna do whatever sessions if feel like every time i go out. Then it is summer holidays. Then, ill have 8-10 weeks to prepare for the race, im gonna do it more structured then.

future yogi.

hot yoga seems pretty cool. i imagine you feel loose af after 5-10 min.

i used to box occasionally in a boxing gym where they'd put the heat on sometimes, was great. drenched in minutes. feel so loose.

wow. this sucks, especially for Ujiri:

A Warriors fan who witnessed the incident told The Associated Press that the sheriff’s deputy didn’t ask for any credentials before putting his hand on Ujiri’s chest and pushing him. Greg Wiener, a 61-year-old season ticket holder, said Ujiri then shoved the officer back before bystanders intervened.

weird stuff.

There's a track meet on 2019-06-21 i'm hoping to be able to do (1600m).
