thanks coges. will give the vid a look and try it out that way. the gmb tutorial isn't working. for me.

crow-to-forward roll is boring and easy so i did crow holds instead. good progress on front lever, see vid below (not even my best set). did some free handstand kick ups for the practice, then against the wall. slowly but surely.

skipped floor kips. too discouraging, need a new set up/plan of attack. got a suggestion on the GMB forums to get some mats and kip from there to the floor, reducing height as i get more comfortable. seems like a good suggestion. need to get some mats.

before the finals they went 12-1 and made the number one seed in the east look like a mid-major college team. they're a really good team. the warriors are just epochal.

i've also always been mystified by the east-west imbalance. it's so consistent, year after year. no equivalent that i know of in other major pro sports.

re: frog stands/crow, messing with where knees are resting and hand placement led to big improvements for me. closer to armpits, closer to elbows, more or less inside. i don't see why there would a hard-and-fast rule about whether it's better for your hips to be higher or level with your shoulders, but it's worth playing around to find the most comfortable and sustainable spot. personally i've found that hands shoulder-width (prescribed distance is closer in) and slightly splayed out with knees fairly close to armpits leads to a crow i could hold for minutes if i wanted to. ymmv based on physiology, where you're mobile, etc.
